*5/22/13*
Told you! Right after I posted the update yesterday, I received
an email from P saying he was going to call soon. He did.
Tonight. Here's the latest: 1.
He's going to attend Vintage Motorcycle Days this year!
YES!! That means we'll get to spend some quality time
together! July
19-21st at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
2. He's made some major changes to the cowboy script he sent me a
few months ago. He wouldn't tell me what those changes were,
he'll send it again when he's finished. He's planning on filming
it next summer on his ranch. "Why not?" That's his
favorite saying now. He doesn't want to be on his deathbed with
regrets, so "why not?" -- he's going full steam ahead with
it. After that, he'd like to film another movie he's writing
about motorcycles.
3. On the down side of "why not", he's decided he's not going to
act any more unless it's something he WANTS to do. No more
getting small roles on popular shows. He's found out he doesn't
have to act to pay the bills, so he's just going to do things HE wants
to do now. He's enjoying his life to the fullest and has decided
this how he wants to live it.
4. He approved the idea for the new look of the site [coming in
December] and he also approved the idea I had for the Photos page for
December. Not gonna say what it is, only that it'll be pretty
special. I need his help for it and since we both
know how slow he can be, we're getting started on it now. I think
you'll enjoy it. :)
*5/21/13*My
apologies to you all for being so late in updating the site. Not
much going on with the Boss -- I actually haven't talked to him in
quite a while. LOTS going on here at the farm however, and that's
why I'm so late. Did have a great idea for the Photos page for
December and let P know what it is as I need his help in doing it.
Fingers crossed it works out! One of these days he'll realize how
long it's been and call to check in -- and I'll let you know when he
does.
*4/30/13*
HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY, Perry!!! Wishing you a day and year filled
with family, good friends, good health, happiness, laughter and lots
and lots of love!! 65!! You can now officially retire!
;) Have a GREAT day!
*4/16/13*Whenever an attack occurs in the
United States, I always think of friends and family. Yesterday
was no different. I knew Louise lived close to Boston so after
hearing of the attack, I sent P an email asking him to please tell me
she wasn't a runner -- or any other family members or friends for that
matter. This was his quick response:
"Dear
Deb, Nope, as far as [I] know no one in my family or friends were
involved-- i'm at my mother's, Louise was just here, but she's back at
work and may be helping in Boston, don't know-- we're all horrified.
Lots of love, P"
*3/16/13* Last
night P received the 'Cool Cowboy' award from the El Dorado County
Chamber of Commerce for his contribution to the film industry --
CONGRATULATIONS, Perry, and a special "Thank You!" to Oscar
Benjamin-Compassionate Wolf Productions for his photos of the
event!
And to Jaime Tafoya and Al Cacioppo!!
*3/14/13* I can't beGIN to tell you how happy I
am to report that as of yesterday morning, APK has had OVER 400,000
visits! FOUR. HUNDRED. THOUSAND!!!! THANK you so, SO much
for your support!!!
*03/01/13*
Talked to P yesterday for over an hour. Not much coming up
Hollywood-wise, but he told his agents he'd stay put in LA at least
through March -- which is pilot season -- just in case. He's
desperate to attend to his ranch and visit his mother, who has had a
hard time this winter.
Back when he and I spent the day together in Santa Monica in '04,
he told me then he wanted to do a film about redemption between a
father and daughter and film it on his ranch. Over the years he's
continued to mention it off and on. Yesterday he sent me the
script to review and all I can say is fans of 'The Cowboy and The Movie
Star' need to cross anything that can be crossed so this film gets
made. His character is similar to the Cowboy and it's another
sweet, gentle story -- something that is very missing from today's
television and film. I'll keep you posted as details emerge, but
until then, please keep your fingers crossed!
On March 15th, Perry will be the honored recipient of the "Cool Cowboy"
award from El Dorado County for his contribution to the film industry
-- congratulations, Perry!!
If you haven't yet, you might want to 'like' APK's
Facebook page -- most times it's pretty quiet, but when P does
check in, it's posted to Facebook immediately.
*02/19/13*
Crazy time here on the farm so I apologize for updating the site so
late. Nothing new going on, Perry called me on 2/15 to see if I
was going to Indy so we could meet up. I wasn't able to
make it so I don't know when the next time we see each other will
be. Depending if his schedule allows, there might be a little
ditty coming up next month. I'll post details as soon as I know
anything. These found their way to Facebook but I don't have any
details on when or where. Thanks, Dominique!!
*01/01/13*
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
To all my
friends out there:
This last year has been a tough one for our country, I think (I’m
talking about the USA, although I could probably be talking about every
country on this planet). I hope that it has been a good one for
everyone reading this missive, or at least less difficult than for the
country as a whole. I have so many friends that are struggling to
survive, and my heart breaks for them. Show Business has perhaps more
than it’s share of people that live day to day-- all the actors that
are not the stars, and the crew and workers that are not the headliner
producers and directors, seem to me to be having a harder time than
ever. Then I think of all my friends up in the Sierras, where the
California economy is barely still breathing-- well, I’m just praying
that this next year will see things pick up. The farmers and ranchers,
and small store owners, are right on the edge. My advice to everyone is
to just focus of getting through the storm. Don’t worry about getting
ahead, or improving things-- just stay alive, to fight again another
day. I believe that day is close at hand-- my instincts are that 2013
will see things get much better, across the board. I hope so much that
I’m right.
For me and my family it’s been a bit of a struggle at times, but mainly
terrific. My older daughter is now teaching and operating at Harvard
Medical School-- to say that I’m bursting with pride is to wildly
understate the facts. My granddaughter is happily at school in Boston,
and on her way to speaking three languages already (her mother speaks
five-- and I will tell you as a simple statement of fact that my
daughter gets her brains from her mother, and my granddaughter from HER
mother). My younger daughter is on an adventure, for the whole year, in
the Far East-- thriving, happy, and enjoying her life enormously. I’m
scared to death for her, but try to keep it to myself. My mother is 97,
and I’ve spent more time with her than ever-- she too is thriving, and
we have some wonderful times talking about her past. I’ve had a great
year taking care of my family and my ranch, and have been very busy--
but not much with acting. I miss it, but find it hard to hang around LA
long enough to land any work worth doing. I’m busy working on a script
of a film that I could shoot at my ranch-- THAT would excite me
enormously.
I send my love to all of you, and particularly to wonderful Deb
Gholson, who continues to do a SUPERB job on APK-- how lucky I am!
And how lucky I am to continue to receive all of your interest! Thank
you all for caring to check in with me, and with APK. Have a great
year!
Perry
*12/19/12* SCHEDULING
CHANGE FOR 'HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS'!
'Home For The Holidays' WILL air
tomorrow, December 20th, but NOT at 4 pm. It's been rescheduled
to 10 pm [eastern] and they have added one more airing:
Friday, December 21st at 2 am. Change/set your timers
accordingly!!
The 'Photos' page for January is going to be completely different
-- Perry's doing it! You'll see things thrrough HIS eyes and what
catches his attention.
*12/12/12* DVR/VCR ALERT!! 'Home
for the Holidays' -- the seasonal favorite co-starring Sean Young is
only airing ONCE this year. You read that right -- ONE TIME ONLY! Lifetime Movie
Network [LMN], Thursday, December 20th at 4:00 pm Eastern. Set
your equipment!
*12/10/12*
Well, dang. Missed the 12th anniversary mark of APK. It was
December 2nd. TWELVE years -- wow. Where does the time
go. APK started as a dream for a stay-at-home mom of two
little boys, 6 and 3. Now they're 18 and 15 and taller than both
their dad and I. It was also a very far-fetched dream because this mom
didn't know anything about computers or the internet. Thanks,
Jeannie -- you'll ALWAYS have my gratitude. Always.
Also didn't know ANYthing about stars or Hollywood or websites or
anything like that -- I live out in the middle of nowhere in
Ohio. Boy, did I get lucky and boy, did I pick the right guy to
help. Those who know the story, this is a repeat. For those
who don't, I fell for P after I saw he and Sean in 1998's 'The Cowboy
and the Movie Star'. There was NOTHING about him on the
internet back then and I decided, in my spare time, I wanted to do a
website for him and help him any way I could. Now I'm in charge
of his fan mail, his IMDb page and anything else he asks his other
"manager" to do. 12 years. Holy cow.
Next year P and I will celebrate meeting and actually knowing each
other 10 years. That just blows my mind. 10 years. I was
scared to death to meet him. Terrified. He called me before
he came to Ohio to work out how we'd get together. For those wondering,
yes -- he absolutely sounds like he does on television. He kept
in contact right up to the morning we were supposed to meet and gave me
instructions to find him when I got to Pickerington [we met at the AMA
Motorcycle Museum]. I still remember how my stomach was in
knots. Trembling hands, sweaty palms, the whole bit. And
when I found him, that's exactly what I said, "I found you." He
came towards me decked out in motorcycle gear [he had just finished a
ride], I had my hand extended wanting to shake his.
Nope. He took my hand and pulled me into a huge hug. THAT
is Perry King -- a warm, considerate, GENUINE man. I love
him dearly.
I think P and I have a great working relationship. He asks
my opinion, wants my input and values my answers. I have his
complete trust. He has mine. He's been invaluable over the
years with his advice, care and concern. He knows when I contact
him it's not on a whim -- I genuinely need him for whatever reason --
whether the site or personal. He's always right there. I
can't say anything more or better than that.
I'd like to thank YOU, his fans, for being so kind, considerate and
understanding. People are always so appreciative when I respond
back to their questions and try to help them any way I possibly
can. That's my 'job' and I've loved EVERY minute of it these last
12 years -- I will continue to do so until my 'boss' tells me
it's time to quit.
To P, his family and friends I've met and corresponded with over the
years -- thank you. To you, his fans -- thank you. I
hope every one of you will have a very blessed Merry Christmas, and a
prosperous and VERY happy New Year. See you in 2013!

*11/03/12* "I'm headed to my mother's for the election and a
few days, then to Vegas with Suzy for the Hall of Fame, then Suz and I
are going to my mother's for Thanksgiving. Lots of fun and also escape
from LA (LALALAND)."
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Louise on November 5th!!
Normally
I don't go into details about P's personal life unless he wants to
share [and he usually does], but I've received a lot of mail lately
from people wanting to know if he's married or who he's married to. The
answer is he is not married; hasn't been for long while [I've never
asked when his divorce was final], but has been involved with his lady
Suzy exclusively for at LEAST 12 years.
Another question: Are Perry and John King from CNN related?
No, they are not.

Reminder that CMT is airing 'Home For The Holidays', co-starring Sean
Young, tomorrow, Sunday October 14th at 5:30 and 11:15 pm.
*10/8/12* From
this past weekend:
"Here's a couple shots from when the
Port Stockton MC club had their 75th anniversary at the Lodi Cycle
Bowl (a really cool old MC track in use since the 50s). I gave the 2012
Road Rider Award from AMA to Bill Wollner, a great guy and past three
time director of the club-- and a recent prostate cancer survivor. It
was a fun day. That weekend I rode my BMW R100GS about 700 miles--
including about 150 in the dirt. I'm beat! "
*10/6/12*Here's what kind of 'job' my Boss is
interested in. Thought you'd enjoy knowing:
"As an actor these days
my goal would be to make myself available for low-budget oddball
independent films, like you might see on Sundance or IMC. But like so
many things in life, I've never been able to open that door."
We're trying to open that door so he can get his foot in and take
off. He's got a meeting Sunday to discuss it. Fingers
crossed! Otherwise, he's doing great! We've played
phone-tag the past few days to figure out what we wanted to do
regarding his career and APK.
On Sunday, October 14th, the CMT channel will be airing 'Home for the
Holidays', the Christmas favorite co-starring Sean Young. 5:30 pm
and 11:15 pm Eastern time. Check your local listings.
*9/1/12*Last month was the first
month in twelve years I haven't updated the site, and for that, I
apologize. There were just too many things going on that demanded
all of my attention. P's fully aware of the situation and I
appreciated his words of advice. I also mentioned I hoped
he didn't fire me because of it. I haven't heard back yet.
I haven't heard much of anything, actually. When that happens I
assume he's still busy with life's every day dealings. I'll let
you know when I hear from him.
*7/12/12* Talked
to P the end of last month. He was in Ohio for a few days for the
Board of Directors meeting for the AMA. He was heading back to LA
for a couple days, then up to the ranch to spend time with Hannah
before he and Louise started across country to get her moved and ready
for her new job at Harvard! Congratulations again, Louise!!
*6/5/12* Happy
"Bad Blood is released to DVD" day!
*5/29/12*
Heads up to US residents: The History Channel's 'Hatfields and
McCoys' is NOT the version Perry is in. The one he's in is titled
"Bad Blood: The Hatfields and McCoys" and it is on dvd only -- being
released June 5th. A special "thank you" to Fred Olen Ray,
who graciously gave his permission to use the photo of Perry as Randall
McCoy on the home page.
*5/23/12* Radio
interview Perry did last week with KAHI is online. You can listen
to it here.
*5/23/12*Talked
an hour on the phone with P last night. Nothing new coming up, he's
spent the last several days on the ranch and is waiting for Hannah to
show up. He said he'll try to help me out with the Photos page ["if
that's the only 'problem' we have after twelve years then we're doing
good"]; he thinks the site looks GREAT and thanked me for keeping it so
up-to-date. He also said he's REALLY looking forward to 'Bad Blood' coming out. He thinks it's
very good [and for him to say that about something he's in is unheard
of -- he's his own worst critic] and he's excited to tell people who
ask what they should see him in [used to be 'A Different Story' but
said "that guy doesn't exist any more"] to watch it. He's very proud of
it and said the whole time he was in KY filming he stayed in character.
Matter of fact, after I told him Amazon carries it he's going to buy
several copies and give them out to friends and family -- he's THAT
excited about it! Remember, it's released June 5th!
*5/15/12* Review
of "Bad Blood" and interview with Director Fred Olen Ray can be read
here.
*5/08/12*More
info and a sneak trailer for " The Hatfields & McCoys: Bad Blood"
being released to dvd on June 5th! It has also been brought
to my
attention you can pre-order from Amazon. com as well as the earlier
link below. Check out P in the trailer here!
Haven't talked to P in a while -- one of these days he'll check in and
let me know what he's been up to. Last year for his
birthday I was hoping to give him the gift of 300,000 hits to
APK. We made it and this year it was over 358,000! THANK
you for your continued visits and support. Speaking of visits, if
you haven't 'liked' APK's Facebook page yet, please do so. More
information gets there faster than I can post it here, although I try
to get it posted in both areas asap.
*3/28/12*
P sent me this shot with his niece taken February 26th at an Oscar
party:
*3/22/12* Released
straight to DVD on June 5, 2012!!
P called on the 19th to check in. Nothing going on in the acting
world, but he's going to be teaching soon at a race track for a couple
of days and is way looking forward to it.
*3/08/12*
Don't forget! 'The Mentalist'! Tonight at 10 PM [eastern]

*2/26/12* DVR/VCR Alert: Cheap
Burgundy,

March 8th at 10 PM on CBS.

*01/31/12*
"It always amazes
me how fast a new year gets off the ground -- it seems like yesterday
morning I was wondering how I managed to screw up my Christmas shopping
so badly -- again. And now we're almost at the end of the first
month of the next year.
And I haven't even written to all of you who visit
this website to say "Thank you!" for your interest, and your
loyalty. Even more important, I haven't yet said publicly "Thank
you, Thank you!" to Deb for HER loyalty, her friendship, and for the
superb job she always does on her creation, Absolutely Perry
King. I've told you before, but it's even more true now, that so
many of my actor friends are extremely jealous of what Deb does for
me. They say they don't know how I got so lucky -- and I don't
either! Thank you, Deb, from the bottom of my heart. APK
makes me so happy, and so proud. And thanks to all of you, for
being part of it.
I hope everyone reading this is off to a great start
on their new year, and that it just keeps getting better. I just
did wardrobe for an episode of the "The Mentalist" that I'm about to
shoot, and the costume designer made that fitting the most fun,
exciting fitting I've had in many years. She completely surprised
me with her take on the character, the way he would dress and look, and
completely sold me on it. It is always so much fun when you find
yourself working with someone who is very skillful and
passionate. It reminds you of why you love doing something in the
first place. Before Christmas I played Randall McCoy in a small
film made in Kentucky about the Hatfields and the McCoys, titled (for
the time being) "Bad Blood". There I was on the first day,
riding around on a horse, dressed for 1866, brandishing an old
percussion rifle, and yelling at everyone in a Southern accent, and I
though, "Oh, right, NOW I remember why I wanted to be an actor
when I was twelve. This is exactly what I had in mind."
Those moments of pure pleasure in what you do get you through all the
other stuff. I hope you all have some of that in your own lives,
hopefully a lot of it. When you do, spread those moments out over
all the rest, kind of like oil on troubled waters. It works
wonders for me.
Well, here's wishing you all Love and Luck in
2012! Thank you for visiting APK."
Perry
*01/23/12*
P called last night. After spending the holidays on his ranch
with Hannah, he returned to LA last week to audition and got a
part! He'll be filming a guest role on 'The Mentalist' this
week. Also, we [ P, Sean Young and I] have been in talks
regarding a 'Cowboy' sequel. I'll keep you updated on both!

Audition today for 'Once Upon A Time'. Will keep you posted.
*10/14/11* "COWBOY AND THE MOVIE
STAR" FANS: We need your input!
P called last night to check in. Nothing going on. He
doesn't want to commit himself to any major projects right now due to
his mother's failing health. She's "fading slowly", which breaks
his heart, and wants to be able to rush to her side when needed.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Onto "Cowboy" -- we talked for an hour and a half last night and the
majority of the conversation was regarding this sweet, gentle 1998
film. P wants to do a sequel. Original cast, filmed on his
ranch. He wants me to help write it. We need YOUR help in
figuring out what fans would like to see in a sequel. He's got
his ideas, I have mine, he's going to call Sean and get hers, we need
YOURS too! It'll be set at least 15 years later [after all, its been 15
years since it was filmed], and it will remain a sweet, gentle
film. Mail me with what YOU'D like to see -- Deb@absolutelyperryking.com
Let's get a sequel to this wonderful film [the #1 asked about on this
website] going!
*10/08/11*
LOOK WHAT'S COMING OUT ON DVD!!
To be released on November 15th!
You can pre-order a copy on eBay or check at your local stores after
that date. If you've never seen 'Aspen', you're in for a
treat. Perry's performance is INCREDIBLE!
*9/29/11* Just got an email from Suzy with a LOT
of pictures of her man enclosed. You can see them on the 'Perry's
Photos' page. Thanks, Suzy!! Got to spend a total of
fifteen minutes with P on the 10th. Plans fell through but at
least we got to see each other. He's doing well, very busy as
usual, and looks great. He'll be emceeing the AMA's Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony once again in Las Vegas November 18-20th. Info
on the event can be found here.
*8/19/11* Couple
things. One, there's a new video on the 'Video' page. I'm
also working on getting an article up. I'll let you know when
it's available. Will be visiting with Perry next month as he's
making a trip to Ohio.
*8/02/11*
Surprise, Surprise! Perry was in the episode 'Closure' last night
on "Drop Dead Diva". You can find it online here.
Other than that, not much to report. I do have a call into him to
see if there's any other surprises we need to know about.
*7/08/11*
Starring
Perry King, Sylvester Stallone, Henry Winkler and Susan Blakely,
directed by Martin Davidson and Stephen Verona: Cinema at the State
Third Thursdays Film Series presents ‘The Lords of Flatbush' on
Thursday, July 21st at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 24th at 2:00 p.m.
(When was the last time someone gave you a hickey?) On Thursday
evening, an $8 dinner by a local restaurant will be served from 5:30 in
the Marquee Room at the theater and the State Theatre No-Host Bar will
be open for business.
Perry filmed
a special
introduction and interview for this on June 20th. More details here!
*7/02/11*Want to know what P's doing for the
4th?
"I'm up in Montana with a friend on
his ranch-- way WAY out in the middle of no-where, no cell phone, and
just barely sat. internet-- it's wonderful and so beautiful-- I'll send
you some pics when I have a better connection-- Lots of Love, P"
*6/02/11*Few things going on. P called on
May 26th to give me an update. Not much going on work-wise.
The only roles coming to him right now are nasty-guy-in-a-
business-suit types and he's really just not interested in continuing
roles like that. Given a chance to do a western or something
along those lines, he'd absolutely jump at it. Therefore
he's not in LA too much right now. Instead, he's having a ball
watching his two girls get to know one another again. Louise has
been busy with her medical career, Hannah's been busy with school, they
haven't spent much time together in the last 7 years and they're making
up for it now. He couldn't be happier!
On IMDb there's another
'personal' quote:
Audiences
don't think you're a murderer if you play a murderer, but they do think
you're gay if you play a gay.
Again, this quote is incorrect.
Perry would like to extend
an open invitation to the person posting these quotes to email him at
perry@absolutelyperryking.com so that he can explain, personally, his
side of the story
of where, he believes, these quotes are coming from. Thank you in
advance.
Unless some last minute scheduling arrangements are made -- which he's
working on -- Perry will not be attending Vintage Motorcycle Days in
Ohio this year.
Dominique found a neat video from Olive Crest. If you're on
Facebook, go to the APK page where there's a link to it.
I'm going to leave the photos up on the Photos page a little longer to
enjoy. They're great, aren't they?
*5/4/11* Welcome
to APK's new look! Sorry I didn't get the site updated for P's
birthday -- he celebrated by visiting his mother. The new main

Since it's spring, I'd like to share the feature story Perry wrote for
"Biker Information Guide", Southern California Edition:
ANYTHING
THAT HAPPENS IS YOUR FAULT
By Perry King
AMA National Board Member
Northwest Division
I'm
sure lots of you out there read about the terrible accident down toward
San Diego that happened about two weeks before Thanksgiving. I
don't know any of the people involved, but like everyone I was
horrified to hear about it, and my heart goes out to all the injured
survivors and the families involved. It was a terrible thing, and
I would give just about anything to know a way to soften the pain for
everyone involved -- but of course, there is no such way. We all
know well that this sport that we all love so much can bite viciously,
and it can happen to anyone at any time.
I hope you'll all forgive me for using this example to talk about
something I feel so strongly about. It's a harsh example to use,
because it's so raw -- but that's exactly why we can all learn from
it. I've been riding now for 45 years, and I had my terrible
accident back in 1970 -- I nearly lost my right leg. The only
reason I didn't was because I was on an old BMW (a '53 R51/2, a junk I
dug out of a field, bought for 150 bucks, and loved maybe more than any
other bike I've ever had). The right-hand cylinder was torn off
the bike by the car that pulled right across in front of me. That
cylinder saved my leg -- even though it took me months to walk
again. The old farmer driving the car said "I never even saw
you." Then he said: "You son-of-a-bitch, look what you did to my
car!" If I could have gotten up, I would have killed him.
But I've loved Beemers ever since, because of those cylinders.
People always say: "Motorcycles are so dangerous", to which I
counter: "No, motorcycle ACCIDENTS are dangerous. The idea is,
don't have one." So, how do you do that? Well, to the
degree that that's possible, I think I know the way. You have to
ride as if anything that happens, whatever it is, is YOUR
fault. With that attitude, you can stay out of a lot of
trouble. If you go through a green light, and someone runs the
red light coming the other way and hits you -- that's YOUR FAULT!
You get it? -- it makes you forget about who's right and who's wrong,
and take full responsibility for getting home in one piece. That
lousy old farmer taught me that. He was completely wrong -- but I
was the one with the smashed up leg, the leg that still hurts on rainy
days 40 years later. Who cares if he was in the wrong? Not
hitting him would have been much better. Since then I've had at
least two dozen idiots do the same thing to me, and I've always missed
them, because I knew when they did it that: ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS
IS MY FAULT. Try thinking that way -- it can save you a lot of
grief.

The
2011 Version of Six Reasons Why I Like Perry King More Than Ever
Years ago
-- 1985 as a matter of fact -- Carolyn Seee wrote an article for TV
Guide titled ‘Six Reasons Why I Like Perry King More Than Ever‘. I
don’t know if Carolyn had the personal relationship like I do with
Perry, but after visiting with him recently, I decided that article
needed to be updated. Here’s Carolyn’s six reasons:
1. I like Perry King because he didn’t take
his shirt off in front
of me. 2. I like Perry King because he loves his
daughter. 3. I like Perry King because he loves his
family. 4. I like Perry King because he’s smart. 5. I like Perry King because he has good
manners. 6. I like Perry King because he looks “out”
instead of “in”.
You can
pretty much guess the
content and explanations behind Carolyn’s list. And, after reading the
article again [you can usually find copies for sale on eBay], I learned
this story was indeed an assignment and not based on long-term
experience. Therefore, after seven years of friendship, here’s my list:
1. I like Perry King because he’s real. From his adamant
refusal to any
kind of plastic surgery [“I want to look like me”], to his ability to
laugh at himself. He’s been in the business for almost 40 years so he
knows a lot ABOUT the business, yet it hasn‘t gone to his head. What
you see is what you get -- there‘s nothing fake about him.
2. I like Perry King because he’s
practical. He hasn’t been
invited back to several motorcycle events because he has the audacity
to show up and park his well-used [read muddy, beat up]
whatever-strikes-him-to-drive-that-day bike next to a showroom-ready
Harley [which he doesn‘t own nor wants to] that‘s never seen rain. His
car of choice is a Jeep. He’s had his share of fancy vehicles over the
years yet his favorites are the ones he’s either ran ’til they dropped
[he has several motorcycles right now in need of complete rebuilds], or
can take him where he wants to go. Sometimes that calls for driving up
cliffs. Nope, no fancy for him.
3. I like Perry King because of his
standards. And some of
them are tough. Really tough. Jaw-dropping tough if you want the truth.
The past year we’ve talked a lot about his personal life and what he’s
done with it. Regardless of events, he remains fiercely steadfast to
his standards and he’ll never back off from them because it‘s the way,
he feels, it should be.
4. I like Perry King because he’s
loyal. Some say you
should keep the friends who pick you up or make you happy and lose the
ones who bring you down. Not Perry. If he’s your friend, he’s right
beside you through all the lows and highs. Sometimes at personal cost,
but it, he states, is his duty as a friend.
5. I like Perry King because he’s
wicked. Once he discovers
something that ticks you off, he’ll do it just because he knows it
will, and relishes the reaction he knows it‘ll bring.
6. I like Perry King because he’s
Perry King. Warm.
Genuine. Caring. Loving. Faithful. Considerate. Generous. Polite.
Respectful. Kind. Passionate. Appreciative. Wise. Grateful. Open.
Funny. Honest. Gentle. Those and more are what makes him who he is.
Carolyn’s six are still accurate 26 years later: He loves his family,
loves his daughters, still looks “out” instead of “in”, has wonderful
manners and he’s extremely smart. But with time comes more wise
experience and knowledge which he's more than willing to share.
I had a three and a
half hour drive to get back home after our weekend visit. He called
twice to check on my safety and location. To me, that says a LOT about
who Perry King is -- it's very hard to keep it limited to only six
reasons why I like him...

He was prepping for two auditions today -- one is for a new pilot and
the other is a 'Without A Trace'-type show. He's doing great, his
mother is still the same [not very good] and he's keeping very busy in
LA. We're looking forward to visiting each other next month in
Indianapolis. Good luck, Perry!!
*1/1/11*Look at that date, will
ya? Wow. Happy New Year!
Unfortunately APK's not getting off to a good start for it's 11th
year. Wanted to change the look but everything down to the
program is not cooperating so it will have to wait. Sorry about
that. Hopefully sometime during the year a face lift will
happen. Have a wonderful and prosperous New Year!

Wow -- it's December already and we didn't hold up our end of the deal
regarding the live chat. It's both our faults, really. My
research didn't turn up a room like I had in mind and do you have any
idea what it's like to try to pin Perry down enough to even TRY and
schedule a date? It's darn near impossible. The man is on
the go ALL the time. So, next time we talk, I'll tell him we had
an epic fail and see what we can do to make it up to you. By the
way -- Thursday the 3rd is the exact 10 year anniversary date.
Friday the 4th Lifetime is
airing 'Home For The Holidays'. And speaking of that film, it's
been released to dvd! If anyone happens to find it, drop me a
line and let me know where, would you please?
That's what I have for news right now. As always, thank you SO
much for your support and visits to APK. 10 years is a long time
and it's been an absolute joy to do. Let's see what the upcoming
years bring, shall we? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year -- see
you in 2011!!!

There's a couple new pictures on "perry's photos" and a gentle tribute
to an actor we just lost.
Okay, here's the deal about IMDb -- In the trivia section, there's a
sentence that reads: "In the past, has blamed his then brave decision
to play a gay character in 'A Different Story' (1978) for having
stunted his career." Here's what Perry has to say about that:
"That's not true -- this was fabricated by a TV Guide writer about 20
years ago, and has surfaced again. What I really said to her, and
have said many, many times over the years, is that I'm prouder of A
Different Story than any other piece of film I've ever done, and would
do it again in a heartbeat, even if you guaranteed me that it would
hurt my career. In other words, I don't think it did hurt me at
all, but I love the film, so I don't care one way or the other.
The TV Guide writer needed some actor in Hollywood to say that playing
gay hurt his or her career, and she dishonestly stuck the words in my
mouth. When that happens, there's nothing you can do about
it. I protested and demanded a retraction, and they ignored
me. Now THAT probably did hurt my career -- but that's show biz."
He also says, "My mother is getting better and better -- and I can't
wait to hug my kid in a few hours." [Today is Louise's birthday]
*11/04/10*
Spent an hour and a half on the phone last night with Perry getting his
work list in order. The correct version is now on the
'Filmography' page. Please send good thoughts and prayers to his
mother who fell last week and cracked her pelvis in two
places. She's home now and resting comfortably, but still
-- not good for someone her age.
There's a new video on the 'Video' page. The content was written
by Ruth King Porter, Perry's sister. Filmed by William Mims
[thank you again, Bill!], and there's talk and hopes of continuing the
project -- a fascinating look at Max Perkins. Other than that, he's
STILL in L.A. and doing well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow [November
5th] to Louise!
*10/16/10*
Got the credit information, but due to a family emergency this week,
haven't had time to put it in order. Hope to get started on
it sometime next week. Perry called Thursday evening. He's
still in LA, still doing the audition thing and out and about.
Check it out here.
*10/01/10* Two new videos are on the Video
page courtesy of William Mms Entertainment. THANKS, Bill!
There will also be a statement from Perry coming soon regarding a
supposed trivia 'fact' that is listed on IMDb. And, due to the
inaccurate information on IMDb [and Wikipedia while we're at it], Perry
is currently putting together a correct credit list.
There's work listed on IMDb he's supposedly done that he's never
even heard of. Anyone can put information on both of those
sites, but just because it's on there doesn't necessarily mean it's
accurate. Stay tuned.
Hollywood star Perry King to
host 2010 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
September 27, 2010
Hollywood film and television star Perry King
will host the 2010 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on
Friday, Nov. 19, at the Red Rock Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.
King, whose career spans more than 40 years, is perhaps best known for
his portrayal as Cody Allen in the popular 1980s television series
"Riptide." King rose to prominence alongside up-and-comers Sylvester
Stallone and Henry Winkler with the 1974 release of "The Lords of
Flatbush," in which he played the character Chico Tyrell. Today, his
list of roles numbers in the hundreds and, most recently, he has
appeared in the HBO hit "Big Love."
King hosted last year's Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and is a
natural fit for the role of emcee. Not only is he a seasoned
professional actor, he is also an avid motorcyclist and a member of the
AMA Board of Directors.
"Perry lends the perfect blend of consummate professionalism with
down-to-earth approachability to our ceremony," said AMA President and
CEO Rob Dingman. "We are really thrilled to have someone as talented
and as passionate about motorcycling as Perry for our emcee, and we're
very fortunate that his schedule allowed him to return this year."
"I'm really honored to demonstrate my support for the Hall of Fame in
this way," King said. "Last year, there were several moments when
everyone in the room was choking back the tears during the inductee
speeches. I was one of them. Their words were genuine and heartfelt,
and they touched all of us deeply. That's what I love about
motorcyclists. We're like a huge family, and if you love to ride you're
welcomed with open arms, no questions asked."
The Hall of Fame Class of 2010 includes legendary two-stroke engine
tuner Eyvind Boyesen, dirt-track racer Don Castro, sidecar roadrace
champion Larry Coleman, off-road rights activist Clark Collins, AMA
250cc Roadrace Champion David Emde, off-road gear pioneers John and
Rita Gregory, desert racing champion and team manager Bruce Ogilvie,
and championship team owner Mitch Payton. Also honored will be
legendary motocross hero and Hall of Famer Bob Hannah. Hundreds will
attend, including inductees' families, friends and fans, dozens of Hall
of Fame members, industry leaders, and AMA and AMHF (American
Motorcycle Heritage Foundation) board members.
In addition to the induction ceremony, the three-day AMA Legends and
Champions Weekend features a full slate of activities. On Saturday,
Nov. 20, the 2010 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Concours d'Elegance will
showcase some of the country's most impressive original and restored
classic motorcycles. Then at noon, the AMA honors the best of the
amateur racing community at the 2010 AMA Racing Championship Banquet.
Saturday evening marks the Las Vegas début of the movie
"Carlsbad USGP: 1980," a look at an iconic motocross race that some
have dubbed "the Woodstock of motorcycling." Sunday caps off the
weekend with self-guided rides in the surrounding area.
*9/19/10*VCR ALERT --
Saturday, September 25th at 2 p.m. Eastern time, the REELZ cable channel is once again
airing a movie called "Love On The Edge" -- otherwise and better known
as "The Cowboy and The Movie Star"! If you missed it back in
April, there's another chance to catch this wonderful family film
again! THANK you, Reelz
channel!
*9/03/10*Perry called Tuesday night to check
in. Hannah's now settled into college, Louise has found her niche
so Perry's getting back into the audition mode since his girls are
taken care of. Until something pops in that area, he's got a
couple upcoming events to keep him busy. One, he'll be emceeing
the AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held in Las Vegas on
November 19, 2010 -- more information on that when it becomes
available. Two, he'll be judging the following:
A&S Powersports plans swap and
vintage show in Northern California
A&S
Powersports says it's planning "one of the biggest vintage motorcycle
and scooter shows and swap meets ever" for Sept. 11 at the store in
Roseville, Calif.
Dealer prinicpal Randy Felice says the swap will have something for
everyone. A complimentary barbecue, gift certificate accessory
door prizes, free GPS training and the opportunity to participate in a
swap meet are just some of the attractions.
Actor Perry King, also an AMA board member, will serve as guest judge
for the vintage bike show.
The swap meet will run from 9 to 11 a.m. Booth space is available
for vendors fro $10 per space, and all proceeds fromt he swap will be
donated to the American Red Cross. The vintage motorcycle and
scooter show runs from noon to 5 p.m.
*7/31/10*There's a new button off to
the left-hand side. One that says "Video". For now, there's
a couple on there from Vintage Motorcycle Days that I shot with my
Flip. I'll be adding more things from YouTube when I find them, and
more Flips when we're together and I have a chance.
*7/01/10*
Happy July! Perry's helping Hannah finish up with her studies,
then he's off to shoot two days on a film for a friend, THEN he'll be
participating again in the AMA's Vintage
Motorcycle Days , July 9th-11th at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car
Course in Lexington, Ohio! Busy time! Tickets to the Vintage
Motorcycle Days are available here.
If you're in or around the Ohio area, stop by and cheer him on!

Don't Fence Us Out
By Perry King
AMA
National Board Member
Northwest
Division
I'm just a biker like you. I make my living as an
actor (a series in the 80s called "Riptide", the President in the movie
"The Day After Tomorrow", and about 50 other shows) but believe me,
what I really care about, after my kids, is riding my bikes. I
joined the Board of the American Motorcyclist Association about a year
ago to help out with what I think is a really big problem headed our
way: the powers that be, whoever they are, are taking away our
right to ride on our public lands as fast as they can. I live in
the north of California, and that's the area I represent on the AMA
Board. Up here, just this year, we've lost about 15 district
events because we weren't given the permission to run them -- off-road
events that have been held for years without problems. Each time
it's something different, and each time it seems to be a different
group or faction or cause that is blocking us, but each time the result
is the same: we don't get to ride off-road, in the lands that
Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir set aside for the public to use.
More and more and more, all over the country, our lands aren't being
protected for the public, they're being protected FROM the
public. They tell us it's because we damage the land, abuse it in
some fashion, ruin it for others -- well it's not true, and up here we
can prove it over and over, but it doesn't matter, because no one wants
to listen. They just want to run those of us who love off-roading
out, any way they can.
So what I want to say to all of you out there that
feel the way I do, about bikes and about loving to ride them off-road,
is this: join the AMA and start fighting. The only way we
can
fight back -- the ONLY way -- is to band together, so that we have some
power. The only forum for doing that, in my opinion, is the
AMA. Rob Dingman, Ed Moreland, and the AMA Government Relations
Department are fighting for us tooth and nail -- but their strength
comes from our numbers, and our numbers are dwindling. The lousy
economy and hard times are making everyone pull back, to save money and
because we're all exhausted by it all, but when things get better again
we're all going to look around and find out that in the meantime, while
we were busy just surviving, the anti-access groups locked the gates on
the whole country -- and there's no where left to ride.
You think I'm probably paranoid, but have you
noticed what's happened in the Rockies? Access to MILLIONS of
acres has been lost, just this year --and much more "so called"
Wilderness is proposed. Wilderness means you can't go near it, no
matter how careful you are not to hurt anything. Closed, finito
-- end of story.
When I first started riding off-road, about 30 years
ago, it seemed like the whole world was open to me -- now it seems like
you've got to hunt forever just to find somewhere to go, and right
after you explore it, the uniforms come and close it down.
There's only one thing we can all do to change this -- join the AMA and
get active. Please, so that we can all keep riding -- DO IT TODAY!
For information about joining the AMA call (800)
AMA-JOIN (800 262 5646) or visit AmericanMotorcyclist.com>Join/Renew.

checked in yesterday. He's helping Hannah finish up her school
work for the year so it's a busy time. He had a great time being
with Joe and Thom again at the Hollywood Show and is very pleased his
Ducati sold on eBay with a portion of the proceeds going to the AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Perry's planning to attend the American
Motorcycle Association's Vintage
Motorcycle Days scheduled July 9-11th in Lexington, Ohio.
As stated in the Photos page, photos next month will be delayed until
around the 12th as I hope to get some new shots during his visit.
On a personal note: When I started apk 10 years ago, I picked a time
when Perry decided to go into a self-imposed hiatus to be dad for his
youngest daughter. It's a little difficult doing a website for an
actor who wasn't acting any longer. Regardless, today saw another
first for the site -- it passed the quarter of a million visits mark. A
quarter of a million! I can't tell you how proud and happy that
makes me and I want to thank each and every one of you for your
continued visits and support! I also want to thank Perry for making apk "our" website. It
wouldn't be what it is without him and all of you -- thank you from the
bottom of my heart!

Bidding for Perry's
Ducati is now open. View it here.
*5/03/10*Own
one of Perry's favorite motorcycles! The AMA's Motorcycle
Hall of Fame is placing Perry's 1981 Ducati 900 Supersport motorcycle
on eBay today. As soon as the link is active, it will be
posted. Until then, here are the details:
1981 Ducati 900 Supersport - owned by
motorcycling enthusiast, and actor of stage, screen, and TV, Perry King.
Perry took third place with this bike in the La Carrera-Classic in
Mexico in 1987; and he is only the second owner.
This exclusive motorcycle is currently housed at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame outside of Columbus, OH and may be viewed upon
appointment.
It is being sold as part of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame’s
CycleDonor program. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this
motorcycle will support the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. (The
CycleDonor program allows individuals to dispose of unwanted used
motorcycles and at the same time support the Museum with a charitable
donation. )
The winning bidder will receive the informational plague from the
MotoStars exhibit giving details on the bike, autographed by Perry King.
LOOK AT THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY. This item is honestly represented and is
being sold AS IS. If you have questions on this item contact me BEFORE
the end of the auction. We can send you more photos (electronic images)
of the motorcycle if you request them within a reasonable amount of
time . . . before the end of the auction. In the event of any bid
cancellations in the last twenty-four hours of the auction, we reserve
the right to cancel this auction.
High bidder will pick the bike up, or make ALL shipping and crating
arrangements. There will be no delivery. Local pick‑up is available
Monday through Friday, between 9AM 4:30PM. Payment and delivery
arrangements are expected within 10 days of end of auction. The only
forms of payment accepted are money orders or cashier's checks. Cash and credit
card are available with local pick-up. Thanks for looking and good luck.
The original tool kit, battery hold-down strap, air filters and
associated plumbing, exhaust end-caps, keys, and paperwork are in
Perry’s possession and will be provided to the winner at the end of the
auction. There are no photographs available of these items.
It should be noted that when last run (about 5 years ago) the bike ran
perfectly, but when the bike was shipped to the AMA Hall of Fame for
the MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles exhibition the clutch was
frozen and remains so today. Realistically, it should free itself when
pushed hard with the lever pulled in.

only other news bigger than the reunion of Joe, Perry and Thom next
weekend at the Hollywood Show, is that next Saturday, April 24th, the REELZ cable channel will be airing
a film called "Love On The Edge" at noon and 3pm Eastern. With
that said, I'm going to assume
[and you know what they say about that] and hope since it's listed under
Perry's name in TVNow, they're calling it by it's alas and not the
original title -- which would be "THE COWBOY AND THE MOVIE
STAR"!!! That's right -- apk's
most asked about/requested film is [hopefully] returning to the small
screen after at least a five
year absence!! Check your local listings for time. The
beloved Cowboy's BACK for a day!!
*4/12/10* Perry called Saturday to say that

The AMA article doesn't want to cooperate for some reason. Until
it does, here's this:
Didn't get to spend much time with Perry a couple weeks ago so we
weren't able to get a chat time scheduled yet. He checked in on the
21st and was getting ready to head back to California after a week's
visit with his mother, who is doing well.
*02/01/10*
Working on getting Perry's American Motorcyclist article in to the
Archive section. Look for it in the next few days. I
plan to visit with him in a couple weeks and hopefully we'll nail down
a time for the chat.
*01/15/10* Check out the cover of American
Motorcyclist's February issue:
The article, which is excellent,
will be posted soon in the 'Archive' section.
*01/13/10* BIG LOVE --
Perry's appearance on HBO's 'Big Love' starts on Sunday, January
24th. Check your local cable listings for times in your area.
*01/06/10*
Campbell sent a link to 'The Han Solo Connection' which talks about
Perry and Harrison Ford and what they have in common. Read that
article here.
Thank you, Campbell!

PERRY
KING
December, 2009
Dear Friends,
Isn’t it absolutely amazing to think that “Absolutely Perry King”,
conceived and executed and beautifully done in every respect by Deb
Gholson, has been in operation for 10 years! I am so grateful to Deb
for doing such a great job, and for being so kind and generous with her
talents and her time. All the actors I know who’ve seen the site are so
jealous of me. They ask me how I got to be so lucky, and all I can say
is: “I don’t know—but I sure AM lucky!”
Well, it’s hard to look back 10 years and see how much has happened.
We’re all a lot older (in some ways it feels like more than ten
years)—and we’re the LUCKY ones! But I feel the mood of the country
changing. I think there’s a lot more optimism, and I hope you’ll all
agree. I personally think things are going to get steadily better for
years to come. Hope I’m right.
More than anything, I want to thank all of you who are reading this for
continuing to care about “Absolutely Perry King”. Just as I am forever
grateful to Deb, I am equally grateful to all of you who visit the
site. Now that my little girl is about to go to college (we don’t know
where yet) I hope to get back to more acting work, and give all of you
a little more reason to keep watching. You never know what the gods of
acting are willing to offer—it may be nothing—but pretty soon I’ll be
able to accept more if it’s there to be had. I’m working on tuning up
my audition technique!
So here’s wishing all of you a great holiday season, and a wonderful
next year—may we all prosper and be happy in 2010!
Love and Luck,
Perry King
Perry and I are working to make the
10th anniversary of apk a
special one as we think 10 years IS something special. Look for
an exciting announcement coming in January; and as the first of many to
come, there's a new picture added to 'Perry's Photos' from his own
private collection.
'Home For The Holidays' will repeat on LMN on Saturday, December 19 and
again on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!!

Perry King to emcee 2009 AMA Motorcycle
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American
Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to welcome film, television
and stage star Perry King as the Master of Ceremonies for the AMA
Motorcycle Hall of Fame Inductions on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Hard
Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. King, a longtime motorcyclist and a
member of the AMA Board of Directors, is excited about the event.
"I'm an actor, but the people in my life I've admired the
most have been motorcyclists and racers," said King. "They're some of
the most honorable, courageous, loyal and humble people I've ever
known."
King said he jumped at the chance to be part of the
festivities. "When I was asked to preside over a gathering of these
guys and gals, many of whom are good friends, and honor them as they
should be honored, well let me tell you, I'd walk on fire to be there,"
King said. "It's about the nicest present I've ever been given, and I
know it's going to be a high point in my life."
King's presence heightens the air of excitement that already
surrounds the annual event. This year's ceremony will draw hundreds of
movers and shakers in the motorcycling community -- including more than
three-dozen existing AMA Hall of Fame members -- together to honor the
AMA Hall of Fame Class of 2009.
This year's inductees are industry innovator Robert Bates,
off-road champion Randy Hawkins, motorsports giants Bob and Geoff Fox,
suspension pioneer Gilles Vaillancourt, off-highway rights activist
Mona Ehnes, longtime motorcycle safety proponent David Hough, legendary
race team manager Gary Mathers and successful dirt-track racer and
tuner Chuck Palmgren.
"We couldn't be more pleased to have someone of Perry King's
stature emcee our 2009 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,"
said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "Here's a guy who has enjoyed
great success and is very busy in his daily life, and yet he finds the
time to be with us because he is a life-long rider and he understands
the significance of what we are doing."
Added King: "When the AMA gave us the AMA Motorcycle Hall of
Fame Museum, we finally went from stories around a campfire to a place
and a premise that suitably honors our great heroes while teaching the
rest of us how we might strive to join them. The AMA Hall of Fame shows
upcoming generations and the whole world of non-motorcyclists some of
the amazing accomplishments achieved by motorcyclists."
King, an avid rider who owns more than 30 motorcycles, also
plans to attend the AMA Racing Championship Banquet, presented by KTM
North America, which will take place on Dec. 4 at the same venue.
There, the AMA recognizes the champions from 2009 AMA Racing premier
events and series and presents several special awards, such as the AMA
Racing Athlete of the Year, the AMA Racing Sportsman of the Year and
the AMA Racing Female Rider of the Year.
Tickets can be purchased for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame
Induction Ceremony, as well as the AMA Racing Championship Banquet,
presented by KTM North America, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las
Vegas Box Office on the day of the event. Ticket purchase includes
dinner each night, and costs $59 (plus a service charge) per person per
single event, or $99 (plus a service charge) per person for both
events. Admission to the Hall of Fame autograph session and the
Concours d'Elegance, presented by FOX Racing Shox, bike show is free.

American
Motorcyclist Association announces new "Think. Ride." public service
announcement campaign
Actor and AMA Board member Perry
King promotes responsible riding practices
PICKERINGTON, Ohio --
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce a
new public service announcement (PSA) campaign called "Think. Ride."
that encourages both on-road and off-road motorcyclists and all-terrain
vehicle (ATV) riders to think before they ride. The responsible-use
messages feature actor and AMA Board of Directors member Perry King.
The
first phase of "Think. Ride." is a series of short videos that
encourages proper safety gear and safe, responsible riding practices,
and discourages impaired riding and excessive exhaust sound. Another
video tells car and truck drivers to watch out for motorcyclists on the
road.
The PSA videos are available online by going to the "Rights"
and then "Resources" section of AmericanMotorcyclist.com.
"We're
very fortunate to have a spokesperson of Perry's caliber sitting on the
AMA Board of Directors," said Rob Dingman, AMA president and CEO.
"Perry is a passionate motorcyclist, and when he offered to help to
promote the AMA's key messages, we jumped at the chance."
King
is well known for playing the character Cody Allen in the 1980s
television series Riptide. He has also appeared on stage and in movies,
including Slaughterhouse Five, The Lords of Flatbush with Sylvester
Stallone and Henry Winkler, and The Choirboys.
"Whether
it is riding on the street or the trail, all of these messages about
responsible motorcycling are personally important to me," said King.
"Earning the respect of those who don't ride starts with us, and we
must take responsibility for how we ride. When we do, we help ensure
that our needs, concerns and rights are always a part of the
conversation."
King,
who rides both street and dirt bikes, taped the off-road-related PSAs
shortly after competing in the vintage hare scrambles race at AMA
Vintage Motorcycle Days at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington,
Ohio, in July. He taped the street-related messages the following week
at the AMA headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio.
Two
more phases of the new PSA program are planned: audio versions for use
in radio broadcasts, and a print campaign for magazines and newspapers.
Announcements will be made for each program later this fall.

*9/24/09*Perry
called last night! Filmed 'Big Love' all day on Tuesday and has
to travel to Washington D.C. to finish it up [he's a
congressman!]. The role has potential to be recurring, so he's
hoping that will be the case as he had a great time. Said the hours he
worked reminded him a LOT of 'Riptide'. Hannah's checking out
colleges to attend and he said Louise was healthy [thankyou for those prayers!] and
very busy. She's got 6-7 months left on her residency and after
that, things will hopefully settle down a bit for her.
*9/11/09* Perry
to appear on an episode of HBO's 'Big Love'. Will post more information
as it becomes available. Congrats, Perry [thanks Jaime]!

Welcome to the new look of apk
! I'd like to personally thank Jaime Tafoya and Kevin Barchers
for their gracious permission to use the new main photo. That
shot is one of THE best symbolic shots I have ever seen of Perry -- thank you
both! There might be a few wrinkles in the new changeover --
please, be patient -- once aired live, I'll go over every page and if
it doesn't work like it's supposed to, I'll get it that way.
Take note there's a new 'archive'
button
-- the page isn't ready yet, but eventuallly I hope to get enough time
to go over the huge lot of old articles and interviews I've collected
over the years and either scan or reprint them into the archive
section. I'll let you know when that page goes live.
Reminder if you're in or near
Ohio -- Perry returns to his home state to participate in the
AMA's Vintage Motorcycle Days at
the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on July 24-26th in Lexington,
Ohio! More information can be found at the AMA's Vintage
Motorcycle Days page. Welcome back to Ohio and best of luck
in the vintage hare scrambles and motocross programs, Perry!
*7/02/09*Last night was the Premiere
party for Experience
El Dorado which is set to
debut in Northern California this
Sunday, July 5th. Perry called last night and again this morning
to let me know it was a HUGE success, a lot of fun was had by all and
he's looking forward to the debut. He was heading out after our
phone conversation to do an interview for the NPR about the show. You
can find and listen to that segment online here!
He also said he'll be
leaving for Colorado in a few days to film
another 'Off Road Adventure'-type show with electric dirtbikes and he
is REALLY looking forward to that!
The Photos page for July will
be up soon. I'm waiting for
pictures from the Premiere party so APK can continue to celebrate Experience El Dorado right along
with Perry!
APK will also have a new look
coming soon. I've finally decided
on a new main picture and received permission to use it. Perry
and I will be talking more in the coming days as he'll be returning to
Ohio to participate in the AMA's Vintage Motorcycle Days -- stay tuned
and have a very safe and Happy 4th of July!

California's Gold Country
Placerville, CA -- Todd Stanley, the
Emmy-Award-winning
cinematographer and producer for the Discovery Channel's DeadliestCatch, is launching Experience El Dorado, a half-hour
magazine program showcasing life in the California foothills.
Through a partnership with El Dorado County, the program is hosted by
veteran film and television star Perry King ( Riptide, The Day After Tomorrow ), with
field reports from Gold Country personality Cory Tapia. The show
explores life, culture, entertainment and adventure in the heart of the
Sierra's Gold Country.

Experience El Dorado was created
by Stanley, who won an Emmy in 2008 for his cinematography on the Deadliest Catch, the number one
nonfiction cable television show that chronicles Alaska's crab-fishing
fleet. "The success of our work on Deadliest Catch has given us a
really strong platform for launching Experience
El Dorado," Stanley says. "To me, it's incredibly
exciting, because I know the Bering Sea isn't the only backdrop for
capturing great stories. We've got fascinating people and places
right here."
Along with Stanley and the
Experience El Dorado team, the show has been developed with support
from the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, the El Dorado County
Office of Economic Development and the El Dorado County Visitors
Authority. Through it's magazine format, the program highlights
the unique opportunities El Dorado County offers to live, work and play
in a historically and culturally rich region stretching from El Dorado
Hills to South Lake Tahoe.
SUPPORT
FOR EXPERIENCE EL DORADO
With
tourism accounting for more than $645 million in annual revenue in the
region, the program is a perfect showcase for the myriad entertainment,
recreation and cultural destinations throughout El Dorado County.
Along with public funding, the program receives support through
advertising revenue from local, state-wide and national sponsors.
"In challenging economic times, it's critical to continuing branding
and marketing our region as a must-visit location," says Sam Driggers,
Economic Development Coordinator for the El Dorado County Office of
Economic Development. "El Dorado County is a community rich
in natural beauty where you ski in the morning, and golf or kayak in
the afternoon. Our business base benefits from positioning
ourselves as a world-class travel destination, and Experience El Dorado provide a
comprehensive brand and marketing platform from which to showcase our
county's unique natural, historic and cultural riches to a wider
audience."
Experience El Dorado's broadcast
partner is NEWS10, an ABC affiliate in Sacramento that is owned and
operated by the Gannett Company. NEWS10's service area includes
16 counties with 1.4 million television households served.
"NEWS10 holds the unique
position of being able to bring quality regional programming to our
viewing audience," says Russell Postell, President and General Manager
of NEWS10. "Experience El Dorado
is a prime example of an innovative local program that showcases a
region many of us can easily travel to and enjoy."

great place to live, work and play."

*5/15/09*Had a very quick phone
conversation
with Perry today and he informed me he'll be back to Ohio on July 24-26
to participate in the AMA's Vintage Motorcycle Days at the Mid-Ohio
Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. To read more about Vintage
Motorcycle Days and to purchase tickets for the weekend events, visit
the AMA's
website
Of course I'll post more
details
here as they become available. Other than that, he said everyone
is well and doing great!
*5/10/09*Back in business. The
Photos
page for May is now updated, and remember, it's under html instead of
htm. I hope to be catching up with Perry in the next few days so
I'll post what he's been up to. Next month the Photos page will
celebrate the 11th anniversary of 'Cowboy and the Movie Star'.
*5/4/09*
Visitors
to APK -- due to a family
in-law emergency, it might take some time for the Photos page to be
updated. I sincerely apologize for the delay. As soon as I
have time to focus some attention here, I'll get it updated.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
*4/30/09* HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PERRY!!! May this next year
be filled with good health and happiness, laughter, family and love!
*4/28/09*
"this is a
shot of Susie Blakely and me at the opening of a
restaurant in Bev Hills by the director of the Lords
of Flatbush (1 of 2)
called
Marty D's -- just about two weeks ago"
*3/09/09*A few years
ago I asked Perry's
fans to keep his mother in their thoughts and prayers as she was very
ill. Perry's mother is a healthy 93 years old now thanks in part
to that request. Today I'm asking for more good thoughts and
prayers -- Perry's oldest daughter, Louise, had a very dangerous
situation happen a few weeks ago. Louise is a third year resident
in medical school, which means she has 120 hour work weeks on top of
raising a three year old daughter -- her life is very full and
incredibly busy. Again, I don't ask this to
violate personal lives and privacy -- I ask this as a fan and friend of
Perry's. Please keep Louise in your positive thoughts and prayers
-- hopefully it will comfort and surround the family with love and
support during this
difficult time. Thank you so much.
*2/3/09*The html problem has been
fixed. If you have bookmarked any pages, make sure they read html
or else you might want to refresh then bookmark them.
*2/2/09*I just realized that the editor
program I have has been automatically saving things in the wrong
format. So it looks like APK hasn't been updated in over a month, but
it actually has. I'm so sorry! Unfortunately I don't have
the time right now to change everything over and it's going to have to
wait until the end of this week until I do. The photos page
should have an html in the address bar. If it doesn't, add it,
and you'll see the updates. As far as I know, this only affects the
main page and the Photos page -- everything else is correct and I
haven't updated any others. I will get this changed as soon as I
can and again, I'm so sorry if it looks like I've been slacking.
I haven't -- honest!
*1/11/09* Kathy's 'Riptide Fan Fiction' page
has moved to it's own location! The new address is : http://www.riptidefans.com Congratulations Kathy on
your new home and well-done web site!

Please know that your interest in my career and life mean a great deal
to me. I feel grateful and blessed that so many people
care. Thank you again.
Here's hoping that this new year is better for ALL of us
than the media would lead us to believe it's going to be. It's
pretty scary listening to all the doom and gloom -- but I want to
believe it's going to get better very soon -- so I'm going to believe
it, and that's that! Certainly if one of the things we all wish
for in life is to live in interesting times, we got our wish -- in my
whole lifetime the only era I remember being so fascinating and filled
with unexpected twists and turns is the second half of the
sixties. And even though we're starting out this year with lots
of problems, we're also starting with tremendous hope and promise for
the future -- more than I remember from almost any year of my
life. So all in all I think it's going to be an exciting and
wonderful year for all of us.
This
year I'm continuing to work on the job I gave myself
several years ago, which is to jettison anything (ie, acting work) that
gets in the way of me providing my younger daughter Hannah with the
peace and routine she needs to reach her goals. Hannah is working
extremely hard toward becoming a doctor (like her older sister Louise,
of whom I am also fiercely proud). She's a junior in a very
tough high school, and at the moment has straight As and will be
attending a summer session at a medical school, an honor that was
extended to her because of all her hard work. Hannah never asks
me not to work, and in fact often tells me to go back to acting, and
that she'll cope fine with the dislocations and lack of routine -- but
I know this is the right thing to do and what she needs, and I have no
regrets or doubts. Once she goes to college, if acting will have
me, I'll get back to it, with pleasure.
So here's to a great year for all of us, and a huge, HUGE
thank-you to Deb Gholson for her hard, incredibly generous, totally
selfless, and brilliantly achieved work on this website. I don't
know how I ever got so lucky to become a focus of her interest, but
I'll be eternally grateful for it -- and even better, for the joy of
being able to count Deb among my friends. Thank you, Deb, with
all my heart.
Happy New Year! Love and Luck to all of you, Perry"
There's
also a wonderful
article about Perry in a local northern California newspaper talking
about his hosting the 'Experience El Dorado' program. Read
it here.
Look
for 'Experience El
Dorado'
to air around June, 2009 in the northern California
area. Perry says "It gives me the opportunty to work around here
(his ranch)." which is something he prefers to do these days. As far as
his Board of Director position for the AMA: " That came up... over the
last few months I'd been asked to consider it and I finally decided to
do it and attended their first board meeting and the reason I did it --
it's pro bono, no money -- and it'll probably be a lot of work but I've
loved motorcycles for... all my life -- 45 years and thought I should
try to give back a little bit if they want me to try. It's a good
organization, does a lot of good I think for motorcycles and we'll see
what happens.... I'm slowly working my way into finding out what
to do for the AMA and I'm looking forward to the next board meeting in
February."
The
'Off Road Adventure' "happened two months ago" so look for it to be
re-aired. The show airs Monday evenings on the Outdoor
Channel.
*12/31/08*After
the old computer refused to turn on one last time, a new computer
was bought [Merry Christmas to me!], old and familiar [read easy] programs reinstalled and a
new HTML editor found [won't even
go into how old that program was], I'm back and ready to go -- just
in time for 2009!
If
some of the site looks a little different or doesn't look right,
please, be patient. Getting used to a new/different HTML editor's
going to take
some
time, trial and error on my part so I thank you in advance for your
patience.
Look for a
message from Perry
soon. He promised he would write a statement for the holiday
season/New Year. Since I had computer problems he got off for
holiday statement, but I'm holding him to his promise for the New
Year. We've had several telephone conversations during the month
of December and I'm happy to report that he's very well, very busy and
enjoying his family during the holidays.
On the news front, a
hard-to-find favorite is being released onto DVD January 13, 2009 -- Captains and the Kings. You
can pre-order it at Amazon.com
Also,
look for Perry on the Outdoor
Channel's 'Off-Road
Adventures' this
Saturday, January 3, 2009 in a segment about Death Valley. Check
your local listing for times.
Have
a very safe and Happy New Year. Thank you for your continued
visits to APK.
*12/01/08* Congratulations, Perry!
American
Motorcyclist Association welcomes Perry King to Board of Directors
The
AMA
is pleased to announce that 45-year motorcyclist and actor Perry King
has
been appointed to the Association's Board of Directors, and begins
serving
his official duties at the Board meeting convening today. King, who
will
serve the North West region on the AMA Board, makes his home in
Northern
California on a ranch in Cool. He maintains a second residence in
Southern
California.
"Perry
King is more than a Hollywood personality, he is a lifelong
motorcyclist
and one of the most poised and dedicated representatives of the
motorcycling
community," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "Perry is not only
passionate about motorcycling but is passionate about the AMA, as well.
He recognizes the importance of the AMA in protecting the future of
motorcycling."
King
will
fill the vacancy resulting from the departure of former AMA Board
Chairman
Dal Smilie. Smilie resigned after an AMA internal investigation
uncovered
evidence of unsubstantiated expense reimbursements to Smilie. King will
serve out the remainder of the original term, which extends through
February
2010.
"My
deep
love of all things related to motorcycling, particularly the people,
attracted
me greatly to the prospect of serving on the AMA Board of Directors,"
King
said. "Also, my appreciation for hard, productive work made me feel I
must
not pass up this opportunity -- so much of the time, all I really want
to do is ride my motorcycle, but that's no excuse to avoid an important
calling."
King
says
that the major motorcycling issues facing the North West region include
land-use, noise, drinking and riding, public image, and, "the apparent
inability of the American public to see motorcycles as smart,
fuel-efficient
and practical vehicles for the future."
Motorcycles
have played a major role in King's life for more than four decades. He
owns bikes of all types, including vintage, dual-sport and sport
motorcycles.
He constantly rides both off- and on-road and occasionally races.
King's
500-acre cattle ranch in Northern California -- where his ranch hands
have
opted for motorcycles instead of horses to work the property --
provides
him with considerable opportunity to ride off-road close to home.
King
is
an accomplished actor and has appeared in more than 50 films and
made-for-television
movies, television series and on stage. Some of his better-known roles
include Cody Allen in the NBC series "Riptide," Hayley Armstrong in the
Fox series "Melrose Place," Richard Williams in the NBC series "Titans"
and President Blake in the 2004 movie "The Day After Tomorrow." Perhaps
one of King's most enduring roles is Chico in the 1974 movie "The Lords
of Flatbush." King made his film debut in the 1972 film
"Slaughterhouse-Five."
King
has
a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama from Yale University. He
subsequently
studied under John Houseman at The Juilliard School in New York City.
He
was born in Alliance, Ohio.

Photos
page will be updated on May 1.
*4/01/08* Nothing to report in the job
hunt as of yet, but there's more
information
about Perry emceeing the Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame's upcoming
exhibit:
"MotoStars",
a watershed event produced by the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, is an
unprecedented look at how the art, sport and lifestyle of motorcycling
has been, and continues to be, interwoven with accomplished individuals
who have achieved prominence in the public eye. Be they
entertainers,
artists, sports figures, business leaders, astronauts or leaders in
other
fields of endeavor, motorcycling is a common denominator that speaks
to,
and reflects, their individuality and character.
"MotoStars"
will be a multi-dimensional exhibition featuring celebrities'
motorcycles,
celebrity-related motorcycling objects, images, memorabilia and items
reflecting
celebrities' personae and their motorcycle experience. The variety of
individuals
will give this exhibit a historical breadth that is unique. The
Motorcycle
Hall of Fame Museum will also recognize the exceptional scope of the
important
work that many celebrities do in supporting charitable initiatives.
The
MotoStars
exhibition will open in April 2008, with a dedication ceremony gala
weekend
June 27 & 28 at the Motorcycle Museum. The event will feature
a VIP party and charity auction with Perry King as the Emcee, and
ribbon-cutting
ceremony and panel discussion with several MotorStars on hand.
For
more information visit www.motorcyclemuseum.org/exhibits/Motostars/opening.asp
*3/01/08* Perry's back in Los Angeles!
"I'm
back
in LA and will see if I can get something worthwhile going here-- I
think
I'll be here for a while... I chose to diminish my career to focus on
Hannah,
and it's probably the best choice I ever made in my life-- now, I pay
the
price by having to start from scratch. If I spend long enough here
things
will pop, I'm sure."
Keep
good
thoughts that "things will pop" soon and the 'New's page will be filled
with announcements of new appearances! Also, after several suggestions
and requests, Perry now has his own address you can email him at:
"...I
want to be available to people who want to watch my stuff (I'm grateful
to them)... "
His
address
can be found on the 'Home' page!
Update
on the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum's upcoming exhibit,

Thunder's website.
*10/07/07* Link to Thom Bray's website

*10/01/07* Hope everyone's enjoying the
interview! I want to be completely
honest
here and tell you that October through December's Photos page is going
to be a smidge sparse. It's a busy time of the year here on the
farm
and quite frankly I'm working on a totally different look for APK
which will appear for '08 that I'm VERY excited about. I've also
received many new screen caps that I've never had before so I'm just
going
to wing the Photos page until the new year and start everything off
fresh.
Thank you so much for your understanding and your continued visits and
support! The Photos page will be changed within the next day or
so.
*9/21/07* The interview's up! Head
to Chicagoactor.com

*9/06/07* According to Stephen J.
Cannell's website,
season two of 'Riptide' will be released on October 30 and will only be
available from VEI in Canada. Below is the cover art. Will
post more information as it becomes available.
*9/04/07* And the answer to the 'what
are you up to?' question is 'everything but
acting'. There's nothing new coming up any time soon.
Perry's
having fun running around doing life things.
Haven't
heard another thing regarding a September release for the second season
of 'Riptide', so I hope it's still on the menu for this month and will
post information on if and when when it's received.
Perry's
reviewing the interview we did together on August 8th, so as soon as
he's
done with that, I'll be sending it on to the entertainment site.
I'll post a link to it here, so keep checking back. Happy fall!
*8/03/07* Nothing new to report as far
as I know. I'll be interviewing
Perry
this week so I'll get a 'what are you up to?' answer then.
*7/20/07* I've been contacted by an
entertainment website who asked if I would do
an interview with Perry for their site. Perry has graciously
agreed
to the interview so while I'm planning the outline, I thought I'd ask
his
fans what they would like to read about. Send
your thoughts and ideas and
we'll all see what I come up with.
*7/17/07* I added a permanent link above
to TVNow.com for Perry's schedule so
it'll
be more convenient to find out when he'll be appearing on
television.
Hope it helps!
*7/15/07* VEI has tentatively scheduled
the second season of 'Riptide' to
be released, in Canda only, sometime in September! Check out the
alert from tvshowsondvd.com
GREAT
news for us 'Riptide' fans -- let's hope Sony follows suit with
their second season as well. Will post all updates as soon as they
become
available, so stay tuned!
*6/01/07* The last time I talked to
Perry which was the middle of May, there was
nothing new coming out at that time. He's having too much fun
playing
family man right now. His mother's doing very well and so is
everyone
else in his family.
*5/20/07* Perry and Desert Thunder 11 -- Perry's scheduled to be
the
special guest at Desert Thunder's 11th Annual Children's
Charity
Motorcycle Ralley and Classic Car Show held October 12-14th, 2007 in
Primm,
NV. Details coming soon!
*4/30/07* Happy Birthday, Perry!
May this next year be filled with good
health,
laughter, family and love [and work! ;)]!!
*4/15/07*SHORT
NOTICE!! Perry's guest appearance in ABC's Brothers and
Sisters
airs tonight, April 15 -- check local listings for times in your area.
*4/3/07* For years the link to Gerri's Perry King Now site could be
found
on APK's 'Links' page and vice versa. The
beginning of
2007
Gerri decided to shut down her site, a wonderful "thank you" to
Perry
for starring in 'The Discontents' -- a film her son created and also
starred
in -- and she was looking forward to what the future held in
store.
It's with great sadness to report Gerri passed away unexpectedly last
week. APK
mourns the loss of this amazing woman and sends it's heartfelt
sympathies,
thoughts and prayers out to her family.
*3/27/07* Perry just filmed a guest
appearance in ABC's 'Brothers and Sisters'!
*2/28/07* Perry's latest television film
"Framed For Murder" will air Sunday
night,
March 18 at 8:00pm eastern on Lifetime.
*2/23/07* Back in November I reported 'A Different Story' was now
available
on DVD. There's a special feature section that has a wonderful
interview
with Perry, Paul Aaron [director], Alan Belkin [producer] and Henry
Olek
[writer] about this charming love story. Perry talks of his love
for the film and Paul's direction during filming.
*2/02/07* Perry's back from his trip and
checked in last night:
"I'm
finally
back from Tibet and Burma-- it was a great trip, full of adventures,
with
just enough hardship to make it exciting without making it
miserable.
I'm planning to spend a fair amount of time in the next few months in
LA
and see if I can get things moving again."
Let's
get those positive thoughts going so we can see much more of Perry on
the
screen soon!
*1/04/07* Perry checked in last night
and here's what he had to say:
"On
the
14th of Jan is that "Cold Case" I did (no idea if it, or I, are good or
bad)-- and this Sunday I leave for Burma (Myanmar), Tibet, and China to
help a friend in his quest to open the old Burma Road (of WW2 fame) to
jeep expeditions--should be one hell of an adventure. When I return by
the end of Jan I plan to really try hard to get back to work-- ideal
would
be a recurring role in a series, where I could plan my life a little
bit
(please keep your fingers crossed for me). "
So,
as
the man asks, let's all keep our fingers crossed that we'll be seeing
LOTS
more of him on the screen in 2007 and beyond!
*1/01/07* Happy New Year! May 2007
be a happy, safe and prosperous year for
us all!
*12/07/06* 'The Cowboy and the Movie
Star' fans will appreciate Lifetime's
repeat of 'Home For The Holidays' this coming Saturday [Dec. 9th] and
Tuesday
[Dec. 12th]. Perry and Sean Young are paired once again in a touching
holiday
film. Check local listings for time.
*12/01/06* Hard to believe another year's
wrapping up, isn't it? Thank you for
your
continued visits, your questions and for your kind compliments about
the
site. I pass them onto Perry and we appreciate them very, very
much.
There's going to be a couple changes in '07 -- APK will have a
slight
overhaul; there's going to be some GREAT personal pictures coming up on
the 'Photos' page and best of all, a LOT more appearances
to
report as Perry's jumping back into the 'actor' mode again!
From
myself
and Perry, we wish you a very safe and joyous holiday season.
Thanks
so much for your continued support -- see you in
2007!
*11/27/06* Perry's set to guest-star on

*7/02/06* More exciting rumors about
"Riptide" being released on dvd!!! Read it here!
*7/01/06* All is in place -- Louise and
her family are situated and all [Hannah
and
Perry's mother included] are doing well. If everything goes
according to plan, look for new pictures on APK's Photos Page starting
in August! My collection's completely spent after 6 years so
Perry
will step in and furnish them for a while. Nothing new coming up yet as
he's been extremely busy getting his family situated and settled.
*6/09/06* Perry checked in tonight while
he's visiting his mother, who is doing
well.
He'll head back to Los Angeles for a couple days then he's off again to
help Louise and her family transfer to another state so she can begin
her
internship. Granddaughter Kate is also doing very well and he'll
be babysitting for a while until Louise gets into the 80 hour-a-week
grind.
He's had calls for auditions but due to family obligations and
responsibilities,
he's passed them up. He misses acting, looks forward to working
when
he can and appreciates the support he receives from his fans VERY much!
*6/01/06* Nothing new to report.
Perry's having fun in his favorite roles
as
dad and grandpa.
*4/30/06* 58 years ago today, an actor
was born. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Perry!
Best
wishes for a year filled with good health, happiness, family and
love!
*4/20/06* Last minute schedule
change! Perry's 'Without A Trace' episode
airs
TONIGHT! Catch it on your CBS station.
*4/2/06* I realize some sites get
50,000 hits in one day and that's fantastic. APK
is not one of those sites and never has been. It's taken almost 6 years
but the 50,000 mark was passed yesterday. I couldn't be happier
or
more thrilled than I am now. Thankyou -- for your
support
and your continued visits!
Perry
checked in last night while he was babysitting his granddaughter,
Kate.
Thank you, Perry. Kate's doing well at 5 weeks old and "Without a
Trace" should be airing soon -- I'll post the date as soon as I
hear.
The Photos
page will be changed by the end of the week.

Unfortunately
"Cowboy" is not available on video but is available on DVD under the
title,
"Love On The Edge" in Australia. ABC's Family Channel
airs
"Cowboy" quite often so check TVNow
monthly for their schedule of Perry's films. Have a safe and very
Happy New Year!

*9/10/05* To be released this Tuesday,
September 13th:
The
Perfect
Neighbor
In
this original Lifetime Channel movie, Donna Germaine (Barbara Niven,
ONE
LIFE TO LIVE) has just moved to a new neighborhood and is optimistic
about
her new life. Donna's troubled past is not so easy to leave behind,
however,
peppered as it is with adultery, betrayal, and violence, which has left
her with some unpleasant tendencies. Once ensconced in her new home,
Donna
meets the man of her dreams: her next door neighbor, William (Perry
King,
THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW). William is unfortunately married to Jeannie
(Susan
Blakely, HATE CRIME), but the two are experiencing some difficulties.
As
Donna's fixation on William becomes ever stronger, the couple struggle
to hold their marriage together, but ultimately their neighbor's
obsessive
unrequited love becomes a vicious impetus to murder.
Pick
up
a copy starting Tuesday!
*8/1/05* Perry's heading out:
"Yep,
I'm off to shoot a film with Sean, called (at this point) 'Home For The
Holidays' -- it's a very nice script about a Frank Capra-like story
about
a family devastated and then saved by a community -- it'll only take me
a week to do my part, which is also perfect for me these days.
Sean
requested me, which was very kind of her, so I only really had to say
yes."
More
details
will be posted when they become available.
*7/27/05* A little more info about "Home
For The Holidays". According to
the
local newspaper where it's being filmed:
The
movie, set in Washington State so the absence of snow won't be a
problem,
is about a woman who takes in her sister's children after their parents
are killed in a car accident just before Christmas.
The
movie stars Sean Young and Perry King.
At
the end of the movie, an old farm house is moved from one property to
another
to save it from foreclosure and to keep the family together. That feat
will be accomplished with computer generated images.
The
movie is a German-American co-production and will likely be shown on
the
CHUM networks in Canada, and possibly on the Lifetime channel in the
United
States.
A
sincere
"thank you" to Mr. Skinner for the information!
*7/26/05*A
new movie! Perry starts to work next week on an
independent
film, "Home for the Holidays", co-starring Sean Young (The Cowboy and

*4/11/05* News and Tidbits: Don't
forget 'The Perfect Neighbor' is on Lifetime
tonight at 9pm [Eastern]!
Perry
checked in today to inform me there's an article in the May/June
edition
of AARP Magazine he wrote entitled 'Auto Pilot -- 15 Easy Ways
To
Spot a Lemon...'. You can read the article online here.
He suggested since he meets the age requirement, while having an
article
in the magazine is neat, it would be even neater to be interviewed by
the
magazine [Deb comment: Absolutely! Instead of the same ol'
gratuitous
Actor, Race Car Driver, Motorcycle Junkie, etc. plug at the bottom, it
would be awesome, not to mention MORE interesting to read what life is
like for him nowadays!]. So, after checking out the article,
feel free to email AARP's The
Mail
[i.e. Letters to The Editor], and suggest it! After all, if
Paul
Newman can get the cover shot, so can Perry!
Perry
also updated me regarding his mother. There are no changes in her
health and probably won't be. He appreciates all the kind
thoughts,
prayers and inquiries the site has received.
*3/27/05* VCR

King Now site has a brand new permanent home on the web.
Be sure to bookmark the new address as it'll take the search engines a
while to catch up. Welcome back, Gerri!!
*1/06/05* I spoke with Perry earlier
this week. It saddens me to report his
elderly mother is very ill and not expected to live much longer.
After long and careful consideration, I'm posting this not to violate
his
privacy, but with the hope his fans will think warm thoughts and
offer prayers of love and support to surround and comfort Perry and his
family during this difficult time.
'The
Perfect Neighbor' is expected to air on the Lifetime channel in the
next couple of months. As soon as an air date is announced, it
will
be posted here.

Thank
you in advance for your thoughts, your prayers, your support and your

*10/14/01* News from Perry,
himself!! Giving respect to his privacy, please
enjoy the following portions:
"I've
been meaning to write for what seems like forever--first of all, I
think
the website is TERRIFIC, and I'm very proud to be the subject of such
good
looking and intelligent work. Thank you so much for your interest and
your
hard work.
I've
been on a self-imposed hiatus from work, and for that reason have more
or less (often without realizing it) avoided anything to do with my
career,
even your wonderful website. I'm just concentrating on raising my
little
girl and letting nothing come before her.
But
to do it right means I just can't work until she doesn't need that kind
of attention anymore. Someday I'll get back to acting. Until then I
pretty
much put it out of my mind. I miss it-- but I've never been happier in
my life than when I'm being "mom". Kind of like Clint in your "The End"
(I really enjoyed that, by the way-- I'll try to show it to Sean--
she's
a loving mother in her life, too).
So
there you are-- print this in the website if you wish-- and thanks
again
for making it such a good one. Oh, by the way, I don't know of
any
way to get "The Last Convertible"-- I'll ask around.
Yours Sincerely, Perry"
The
VERY
best to you and your little girl, Perry. Thank you again!

this
devastating tragedy and their family and friends. God Bless the
USA
- we WILL prevail!

Entertainment and World International Network have made a

"This
first WIN slate which we are picking up is filled with major stars in
the
principal roles," Modern Entertainment president and CEO Michael Weiser
said. "These films will appeal to affiliates and independents alike who

Bologna

**Webmaster
note: World International Network has all ready brought to us the

slight
transformation!
A different title photo has been added, along with the new Fun Stuff
page.
Enjoy!
*4/06/01* Changes, changes,
changes! April's photo page is up and running.
Keep an eye open for a new "Fun Stuff" button coming soon. Might
be sparse at first, but it'll definately be added to as time goes
by.
Thank you so much for making Absolutely
Perry King a successful
dream come true! I'm investing soon in a new 'bad
boy'
computer, complete with a screen capture program so I can keep
different
themes going every month. As far as new "news" goes - it's kinda
quiet since the demise of Perry's character on "Titans". I will
do
my best to keep this page updated as soon as anything becomes
available.
However, racing season is coming up. Let's hope there will be plenty of
events to report on.
*2/03/01* February's photo page will be
delayed for a short while as I'm waiting
for something. Warning - there won't be as many photos as in the
past, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait. I'll post here as
soon
as it's up. Thanks for your patience!
*01/01/01* Wow, what a date, huh? HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!! Due to the hectic
holiday
season [and the fact that I haven't come up with a theme yet], the
photos
page for January will be delayed for a couple more days. Be
patient
- I'll get it up ASAP!
*12/18/00* *** Absolutely Perry King has
moved to its new home! ***
*12/15/00* NBC's "Titans" has been
cancelled. Garth Ancier, entertainment
president
of NBC has also been fired. PK fans will remember Mr. Ancier as
he
was the one who explained that PK wasn't "mean enough" and "didn't test
well with the markets". Hmm...
*12/01/00* December Photos page is
up. Going to adjust some of the
pictures
on there, so be a little patient with me. Absolutely Perry King
is going to be changing servers by the end of the month. Stay
tuned
for new address. I'll get it posted and up as soon as I
can.
Happy Holidays!!!
*11/20/00* Be sure to pick up a copy of People Magazine's special issue: "Hollywood's
Hosts With The Most!" on
newstands and checkouts now.
There's
a nice article and picture of Perry!
*10/25/00* Here's a fun,
behind-the-scenes article in Motor
Trend magazine regarding
the 'Annual Death Valley SUV Torture
Test'
for the year 2000. Catch the whole, hilarious article in the
Sept.
2000 issue of Motor
Trend. It's a very good
read!
*10/22/00* Wonderful racing weekend for
Perry!! In his own words Friday afternoon
before the start, he was "absolutely determined to finish", and finish
he did! After starting 58th out of 79 entries, Perry finished the
race 34th out of 79, and in his class [production], he finished 3rd out
of 5! His car returned in perfect condition after 450+ miles of rally
racing.
A very special "thank you" to Mr. Kurt Spitzner with the SCCA Rally for
this information!
*10/20/00* Another racing weekend for
Perry. This time, it's in Houghton, MI
for the Final Event of the 2000 SCCA ProRally Championship.
Details here.
As always - best of luck, Perry!!
*10/14/00* According to Michael Lange,
who directed the upcoming "Titans" episode
'Stormy Heather' airing on October 25, the character of Richard
Williams
will expire in the episode following on November 1, 2000.
*10/03/00* Received word Perry didn't
fair so well in the New Beetle Cup as he had
a problem early on in the race. Waiting for confirmation.
*9/28/00* Perry's racing again this
weekend at Road Atlanta to compete in the New
Beetle Cup exhibition race. Part of the Petit Le Mans weekend on
Saturday, September 30, 2000. More details as they become
available.
Good luck, Perry!
*9/28/00*
Look
for
"Titans" to debut on NBC October 4, at 8:00 PM. Perry will be in
the first four, and possibly the fifth, episodes.
*9/3/00* Perry, along with Michael
Klausman, is set to be Grand Marshall for the
second annual Cruise 4 Kids benefit for Olive Crest Homes and Services
for Abused Children on Sunday, September 17, 2000. Read details here.
*8/6/00* According to the Webmaster of
Perry's Official Site, and I quote:
"I
talked
with Perry a while about this. He said to say he is truly happy
to
hear how much his fans support him, but, ultimately, he's happy with
what
is planned for Titans this season - he can't say what that is for
sure....he
certainly hopes you will all tune in and watch. Thanks again for
all your support. Perry really loves hearing from you all."
So
- that
is that and we shall tune in to see what's in store.
*8/2/00* Seems the rumor's true - Perry
will only be seen in the first four
episodes
of Titans according to Entertainment
Weekly.
Apparently
he's not "mean" enough so they're bringing in Jack Wagner as his
younger
brother when Richard meets his demise. *Webmaster note:
Obviously they've never seen Perry portray Cutter Amberville in I'll
Take Manhattan or Herbert
Pulitzer in The Prize Pulitzer.
He's deliciously devious when it comes to portraying a nasty character.
I'm awaiting confirmation and/or addresses for whom and where to write
in case we can change minds of the powers that be at NBC. Will
list
immediately after hearing from his official site.
*7/31/00* Perry's involved in an
accident Saturday, July 28th during the Hyundai
Tiburon held at the Maine Forest ProRally in Rumford, Maine. He
was
uninjured, but was disqualified from the remainder of the event due to
time limitations.
*7/26/00* Rumor emerges from Hollywood
that Perry's Titans character will meet
his
demise in the fifth episode of the series.
*7/19/00*
Perry to race Hyundai Tiburon
in the "Extreme Sport" of Pro Rally at
the
Maine Forest Rally on July 28th and 29th in Rumford, Maine.
