are not a good thing,
sometimes. Alas, we all have
them. I have been thinking
long and hard about APK since I
announced 2 days ago I was going to
shut it down in September. But
then, I talked to a dear
friend (who doesn't have the
initials P.K.). This person
understands. Always has. It's
one of the reasons why we've been
friends for over 20 years. We
discussed, thought and discussed
again. The last time we talked
I was reminded of something.
This 'News' page is a mixture of
news and blog. Always has been. Most
times the blog deals with
Perry. Sometimes it
doesn't. One thing I've
thought long and hard about was what
I wrote 10 years ago so I went back,
found it, read it and let all it
sink in again. It goes like
basic, simple and straightforward.
It shadows it's subject.
aren't any fancy neat-o/change-o
graphics to be found, there's no
'professional' website designer/maker
copyright at the bottom of any
page. It's my firm opinion that no
matter how much one would pay
a top website designer, they'll
never capture the site's heart, soul and
passion. No amount of
money can buy it.
And APK has heart, soul and
passion. It has MY heart, soul and
passion. It also has my
sweat, joys, tears, triumphs, setbacks,
uncertainties. It's all
right here in these pages.
This is what APK is all
about. Always has been. I
haven't been in the correct frame of
mind because I haven't had much to do
with this place like I have in the
past. Will it ever go back to
the way it was? I hope it will
someday. Perhaps in a year or
two. Perhaps it might not.
That's the funny thing about the
future -- you never know what it
holds. But I do know one
thing: I'd be doing a huge
disservice to the man it's dedicated
to if it was gone and that's the LAST
thing I'd ever want to do.
APK was developed because 20 years ago
there was nothing about Perry on the
World Wide Web. Then a website
popped up. Then two, then
APK. The other sites are gone,
APK's still here and it's going to
stay here for a while longer.
That said, it's going to be a little
different. Just the basic
information. No more Facebook
page (truth told, Facebook only makes
things lazier). Just this place --
plain and simple as it may be.
If I have updates, the date it has
will be on the main page like it
always been. If it hasn't been
updated in 6, 8, 12 months? So
be it. If I have information, it
will come from Perry like it always
I feel better about it -- I hope his
fans do, too. Thank you for your
continued support and visits. I
can't begin to tell you how much it's

*4/01/17* Talked to P on
February 28th. Had a great
conversation with him. He's
still busy editing 'The Divide',
learning, and loving what he's
learning, as he goes. He expects
it to be completed in the next few
months. I was fortunate enough to see
the film not too long ago and I can
tell you -- it is absolutely WORTH the
He's going to do something totally
unheard of this day and age when it's
time to release it. It's an
awesome idea, something completely
"un-hollywood". I wish him the
very best. We talked about APK
and he said to "let it rest until I'm
ready". I told him it had rested
for 15 months and I was waking it up
slowly, going back to the old
ways. So I guess I'll continue
doing what I'm doing until he's ready
to have it at his beck and call -- I'm
MORE than ready!
*01/10/17* Called the Boss
yesterday to wish him a Merry Christmas,
Happy New Year and all that other
stuff. Basically I called to see
if he's still alive. He is.
He called tonight and left a
voicemail. Said he's still editing
"The Divide", he's getting really close
to getting it done the way he wants, and
he sounds pleased... REALLY
pleased. In the meantime -- until
he calls again -- he sent new (to me)
shots during filming. Enjoy!
*01/01/17*Look at that
date, huh? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I had visions for APK for 2017,
unfortunately none of them are working
out. I haven't heard from P since
November. I'm sure he's busy
putting together 'The Divide' and living
life. Same as me. January
and February are going to find me
tremendously busy with big changes at
work. Big, BIG changes. I
hope they go as planned.
As for APK? Wish I knew. When I
hear from P, I'll ask him since it's
kinda dead in the water without his
help/input and after 16 years, he might
not want to deal with it any more.
We'll see and you'll be the first to
know. I'll run old photos for the
'Photos' page for a while since there
are new people out there.
Hopefully it won't be as boring for
y'all as it is for me (16 years is a
long time to run the same things).
I wish all of you a very happy New Year
-- may it be filled with good health,
love, laughter, family, peace and
prosperity! Thank y'all SO much
for your patience and outstanding
loyalty to APK all these years!
Peace to us all,
*11/04/16* Things are slowly starting
to come together. It finally sunk in
with Perry he's able to text me now and
he's starting to and sending LOTS of
goodies that I asked him to. Here's
a couple extras:
started to start re-cutting the film (The
Divide) entirely from new so I've got a new
editor and this is our logo at this point
for the production company which I'm really
"Here's my horse Dutch in a painting app
(Waterlogue) that Kiki my Granddaughter had
me buy. Nice, isn't it?"
As I said, he's sending me pics to use on
the Photos page (I hope to get that Riptide
one ripped down SOON!) so I'll get those up
as soon as he's done.
Well, HELLO there! Wow -- that took
longer than I expected, but then again, a
LOT of things have happened since April
30th. We sold our farm, moved to
Tennessee, built a new house, I got a
job... just lots and LOTS of stuff.
But, the good news is, I'm back! With new
internet. Same old computer and
believe me, it's like it's brand new -- I
forgot how to run it and am having to
experiment with APK to see if I remember
how to do any of that as well. It's
coming back slowly. ;) I've talked
with the Boss quite a bit since I've last
been here -- I posted about it on Facebook
since I had easier access to it. I
haven't talked to him since he got back
from his Rocky Mountain motorcycle
journey... I hope he's okay... I told him
I was planning to get back to APK and I
know how I want to do it, I just need to
hear from him first. So, look for a
change to the 'Photos' page [FINALLY!!!
Right?? Believe me, I know!!!] and
look for some new news as soon as I hear
from him again. I've missed this
place -- I've missed you guys -- and am
MORE than ready to jump back in the groove
again. Y'all take care and I'll be
*04/30/15* HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
PERRY!! Wishing my Boss LOTS of
good health, happiness, laughter, love
and especially sanity this year for
his birthday. ;) 2015 is
flying by so fast already -- I can't
believe it's almost May 1st! I
talked to the Associate Producer for
'The Divide' this evening and he told
me things are full speed ahead for the
film. Last Saturday they did
some location scouting and other

in a while -- he called a couple weeks

It is almost May 1st
which means things here at the farm
are hot and heavy as well. We're
knee-deep in sorting out, packing up
and selling our farm for our
retirement move to Tennessee within
the next couple of months. It's
good and it's bad. Good because
hub and I will fulfill our married
dream of living there and bad because
we'll be so busy with selling, moving
and building, I won't have any time to
devote to APK. I'm going to put
some different shots up on the
'Photos' page tonight, and that'll be
the last time for a long while.
I'm sorry for it, but I've dedicated
15 years of my life to APK and while I
plan to continue, sometimes it just
has to take a back seat. It is my plan
and full intention for Perry and I to
pick up exactly where we left off --
probably at the end of 2015 -- and get
APK back on track. I think he'll
be all for this when he has the time
and we'll see what new and different
things we can come up
with. Until then -- thank
you SO much for your continued support
of Perry and APK. Don't forget

According to Jaime, this
is Perry's newest fan. This pretty
girl would scorn his attention but the
minute he ignored her, she tried to woo

wanted him to send me his
screensaver, but he couldn't figure
out how? He finally did and
this is it:
*02/05/15* Not much news to report,
haven't heard from my Boss since I spent
the day with he and Suzy on January
18th. P got Suzy's old iPhone
[which was a hoot to watch him try to
navigate, after having a flip-phone for
YEARS] and I admired his screensaver [a
shot of them both -- so sweet!].
He asked if I wanted it, Suz emailed it
to me but it never arrived. Suz
showed me more pictures off her phone
and sent me the ones I liked.
You'll find those on the 'Photos' page
this month. P is SO excited about
getting 'The Divide' going! The
energy and happiness he radiates when
talking about it is like being around a
New Year!! 2015!! What a
HUGE year it's going to be!!

"My Dear Dear Friends,
Isn't that incredible? Literally incredible, as in "just not credible!"
How could it be so long, how on earth could fifteen years have whizzed by so
fast? It's got to be one of the oldest laments in history-- how could time speed
by so fast?-- but it feels just as blindingly true for all that. Well, all I can
say is, how lucky can a guy be to have such a wonderful friend as Deb, to
create and run an extraordinary site like APK for years?-- I mean, from the
beginning so many people said to me, after seeing APK, how the h--- did YOU get
so lucky? And honestly, all I could ever say is: I have no idea, but I'm sure
glad I did. I've got a lot of jealous actor friends, I tell you.
So far, working toward a production of The Divide, the movie I plan to
make on my ranch, has been one of the most enjoyable and satisfying things I've
ever done. We had a very successful Kickstarter campaign, which met our goal of
raising 30,000. dollars for pre-production, and got us a LOT of wonderful
attention-- but once we actually start production, I will be the bank for the
film. I'm the one who's always wanted to do this film, it's been my dream for
years, so it seems fitting for that reason-- but also, if I write the checks I
get to call the tune-- and nothing is more important to me than to do this film
the way I want. Any financier would want to make a number of changes-- and I
just won't do that to this film. Casting, scenes of violence, many different
tweaks to the story-- none of that will fly for me, so I'll just have to pony up
and put my money where my mouth is. I think about it all the time, and it's
totally absorbing for me. I swear, I could start tomorrow.
Many of you may know this already, but there is a major production of a
film called "Genius" about my grandfather, Maxwell Perkins, and Thomas Wolfe,
that is currently being shot in England-- as a substitute for New York City--
that stars many of the actors from The King's Speech. It should be a really fine
film about a very American subject, made by a team of Brits-- so I hope they get
it right. My experience is that our cultures don't really understand each other
very well-- either direction-- but I'm hoping in this instance to be wrong.
Certainly the people doing it are superb filmmakers, so that bodes well.
I already have ideas of two different films I want to make after The
Divide-- but that seems so absurd to me, to look that far ahead. Here's hoping
that by the end of 2015 I will have in my hands a good, enjoyable movie about
real people, struggling with real life problems. I'm going to give it everything
I've got. I hope you'll all look for it early in 2016.
I hope EVERYone has a great new year, and that this new year brings us all
everything we wish for, and more!
With lots of love, Perry"
"Here's a shot of Colin Firth playing my grandfather in Genius, also
starring Jude Law as Thomas Wolfe. To his right is my niece once
removed, Jane Owen, a publicist in LA and a Brit herself, and to his
left is my cousin Max Owen, her father, a barrister in England (amazing
family resemblance between Max and his grandfather, Max Perkins!). The
film is being shot in England, and they were visiting the set. "
*12/02/14* Today is APK's 14th
anniversary. I'd had it on a free
server a year before this but today
celebrates 14 years being in the same
place. Amazing. A lot of things
happen in 14 years, some good, some bad,
but it's been a HECK of a ride. I
talked to Perry last week and asked him if
he wanted APK to continue. With his
successful kickstarter campaign completed,
I know he's going to be exTREMELY busy in
2015 with his baby 'The Divide'. His
plate's going to be full to running over
and I know he won't have the time to keep
me updated like he has in the past.
He left the decision up to me. The
last 9 months of my personal life have
been filled with many changes and turmoil
and I'll admit it's been more than
tempting at times to turn off the lights
and shut the door, but I can't bring
myself to do it just yet. I still
enjoy helping other fans and want
to. There will be some changes this
year -- the 'Photos' page probably won't
be changed monthly. I've used the same
stuff for more than 14 years and no matter
how many new followers APK gets over the
years and it's new to them, the same stuff
is the same stuff. It's old and
boring. Starting in March, I'll be
putting most of my time and effort into
packing up, selling our farm and moving to
our retirement property in East Tennessee
as my husband retires in February.
do what I can when I can for another
year. When there's news, I'll
let you know. As always, I thank you
from the bottom of my heart for supporting
APK with your visits and questions over
the last 14 years.

*****FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*****
THE DIVIDE, A
NEW, INDEPENDENT FILM BY
ACTOR/DIRECTOR PERRY KING IN
PRE-PRODUCTION IN THE GOLD COUNTRY OF
'The Divide' is
scheduled to begin filming in 2015
on The King Ranch in El Dorado
Los Angeles, CA (September 15,
actor/director Perry King (Riptide,
The Day After Tomorrow) is
pleased to announce the launch
of pre-production for his new
independent Western The Divide from
Left for Dead Productions.
"For years and years I've
wanted to make a Western on my own
land and finally I've got the script
to do it." says King. King and
his Left for Dead Production
collaborators, New Hampshire-based
screenwriter Jana Brown and
Chicago-area filmmaker Russ Rayburn,
are in pre-production with script
breakdown, crew selection, casting,
location scouting, camera and screen
testing and other logistics of
shooting the film. Principal
photography is scheduled to begin
summer of 2015.
Set in drought-plagued Northern
California in 1973, The Divide
chronicles the story of Sam Kincaid
(King), an aging rancher
a failing memory, his estranged and
independent-minded daughter, Sarah,
and Luke, a young ranch hand who finds
himself in the midst of a family in
crisis. Internal struggles, the
realities of an unforgiving landscape,
and the need to reconcile a long-ago
tragedy collide to create the backdrop
for this classic American Western.
Divide will be filmed almost
exclusively on the authentic setting
of a 500-acre cattle ranch in the Gold
Rush country of El Dorado County,
California. While King has
enjoyed decades of success in
Hollywood, he has long aspired to
break out of the traditional Hollywood
format and film an independent movie
on his own terms; a simple, thoughtful
production that will reflect both the
tone of the film and the stark
simplicity of the landscape of
Northern California in the 1970s.
"I want to make a film about the drama
of ordinary life," says King, noting
that he has found that story in the
simple yet ultimately complicated
existence of Sam Kincaid and The

Festival at The Autry Western Museum for
films funded thru Kickstarter campaigns:

He LOVES Zero motorcycles!
Now, because of that, he's heading out to
Death Valley today, on a Zero, to do a promo
for a show he wants to do called 'Road

the country on a motorcycle, stopping for
different adventures/history lessons.
that, he's heading to his ranch to shoot

because of BOTH of those, he wants me
to do two additional websites for him

accepted! He wants to stay as
far away from the Hollywood scene and
how it works and I can't think of a
better way to do that than to do what
he wants -- hire someone in
central Ohio for his PR.
We have a system, we know how each
other operates so it works and, I
think, works well. I'm very much
looking forward to the new challenges
we'll both have!

Lewis and Cassandra Roberts
Photos page is now up and running.
Nine months in the making! See, back in
May 2013 I came up with what I thought
was a GREAT idea. I still think it
is. And I needed Perry's help to
do it. I asked him to contact Joe
and Thom and ask them for 'Riptide'
memories since 2014 is the 30th
anniversary of it airing on NBC. I asked
him to have it by December. After
working with and for him for 14 years, I
know how he operates. That's why I
asked him back in May. I'm only
sorry Joe didn't participate.
Since the other two focus on him, it
would have been neat to get his
side. I hope you enjoy it.
If you'd like, feel free to email Perry
and tell him how much you did -- it
continues to boggle his mind that
'Riptide' is still popular 30 years

page to start off 2014.
As I sit here typing this, I have a
houseguest. Perry came in on January
17th for the annual AMA Board of Directors
Meeting. He arranged to fly out today
so we could spend some time together
yesterday after other members went
home. I invited him to the farm for
supper and told him he might as well spend
the night so he wouldn't have to pay for a
hotel room again [rather silly to,
really]. So he's here and last night
we went through pictures on his computer of
his family and his ranch. We came upon
this one. I wanted it for the site
since it's absolutely gorgeous. Hannah
took it, so it's not really a picture --
it's more him looking at his little girl:
"Dear Deb, here are some shots from a big
rally I spoke at that was held at the
Capital building in Sacramento-- more than
5000 thousand riders! A very good show of
unity for CHOICE, basically, which is what
we're always fighting for at the AMA."
I'm flying in on Thursday, meeting
through a lot of Friday and all
Saturday.... I've booked myself out on
Monday so you and I can have some time
on Sunday-- does that work for you?
I've been working away looking
for funding for Dan Always Said-- I'll
tell you about it when I see you (I
hope I will see you, won't I?)-- have
you seen the film Nebraska? It's VERY
much the movie I hope to make, which
is very good for us, and a little bad
as well. Lots of love, P"
Looks like we're spending the day
together Sunday. Good times
Happy New Year!!!
isn't it? Hope it was a safe
and happy one for everyone.
The assignment I gave Perry is
done on his end but I'm unable to
air it yet. Hopefully
once you see it [IF it all works
out], you'll understand. I'm
shooting now for February as some
things will be easier when I see
him the weekend of the 18th.
APK's now in it's 14th year on the
world wide web. That's also
unbelievable. My heartfelt
gratitude to ALL of you for your
continued support -- I'm so very
grateful for your continued visits
and to Perry for allowing me to
continue to represent
him. Have a GREAT
Talked to the Boss
tonight for an hour. Wished each
other a Merry Christmas and we'll both
be doing the same thing tomorrow --
staying home. HE'll be staying
home and working on a car or two since
all of his 'reliable' transportation's
broken down at the moment [he had to
be towed to LA on his way back from
the ranch -- it's bad ;) ].
Talked about his movie -- he's had
meeting with a couple investors but
they always want to change something
they don't like and he won't.
He's adamant about sticking to his
plan so if it takes another year or
two, so be it. It'll only help
his character anyway. Talked
about Jeeps, Christmas trees, you name
it. Ah, and he also confirmed
he'll be in Ohio in a little under
three weeks for an AMA Board of
Directors meeting. He's already
making plans to stay a day or two
longer so we can spend time
together. He's bringing a stack
of photos to autograph since I'm out
-- that's always a fun time watching
his hand cramp up from so many
signings -- he'll take a break and
we'll chat away. We did that in
Indy a few years ago.
you all a VERY Merry Christmas!!
*12/17/13* Perry sent photos of his
Death Valley Jeep trip. They'll
be found on the Perry's Photos
page. He also sent his
end-of-the-year statement, but it's
wrapped in with his assignment so I
can't share it yet. Hopefully

the way, the little gun in
the shot has a story-- I
bought it in Paris when I
was about 11. I was there on
a trip with my parents and
sisters Polly and Ruthie--
it was on the Left Bank, and
this very old lady had a
stand selling antiquities on
the river. I bargained for
hours for this little single
shot, cap and ball
derringer-like pistol. I've
owned it my whole life, but
never used it for anything.
But in this film I was
supposed to have a derringer
in my boot, and when the
director told me he had a
fake one I said "I've got
the real deal, from exactly
that era." Fun!
incredible that APK is
13!!!! How on earth did that
happen?-- in about 10
minutes. it feels like!
Anyway, I'm back home in
LA-- Suz and I go to Death
Valley tomorrow to lead a
Jeep trip with about 14
vehicles with Mark Smith
(the 4 wheel guru, who
created the Rubicon Trail)
for a few days-- I'll send
photos of that. Lots
of love, P"
here it is -- the latest look of
APK. I hope y'all like it. The
main photo was taken by Pat Dollins for
a local newspaper article earlier this
year. When I saw the picture, I
knew right then it would be the main
shot for APK's latest facelift.
Why? Well, because, in my opinion,
it absolutely epitomizes everything
which makes up the Perry King I
know. It's gentle, it's
comfortable, it's confident, it's
friendly and it's warm. If someone
asks me what P's like in real life, I'll
point to the photo and say "Just like
that." I. LOVE. It. And
since I do the site... well... ;)
Today also marks APK's 13 anniversary on
the world wide web. Thirteen
years! I can't believe it.
In that 13 years there's been almost
450,000 visits. A long, long way
from 13 years ago when I would get
excited if it had gotten 100 visits in a
month. 450,000!! THANK YOU so VERY
much for your continued visits and
support! I am so completely
blessed and fortunate to have this
Speaking of jobs, I gave Perry an
assignment back in June and I asked that
it be completed by this month.
Um... the deadline's here and gone but
he IS working on it. So,
hopefully, it will be done by the first
of the year so I can share it with
you. I'm very, VERY excited about
it and I think a lot of you will be as
well. Fingers crossed so look for
it in January!
Let year 14 start!!
"Shot a few days on a film that was
made by a really interesting Native
American film maker up here in Gold
Country, Jack Kohler, playing a bad
white guy who abducts the native women
(very true that that happened, in
great numbers in the 1850s)-- here's a
shot of me for wardrobe-- before we
actually shot I made sure to age those
boots! I'm asking him for some stills
from his film, to send on to you-- I
think the film might be very good (but
you never know, until you see it). I'm
having a lot of fun with acting these
days, just doing things when I'm
asked, and only things that seem fun.
It feels like I'm back in the
that tonight is the first showing of
'Home For The Holidays' -- LMN
[Lifetime Movie Network] at 8pm
Eastern and it will air again at
midnight. Also, an update from
call again soon-- it was really fun
talking to you the other day. Here's
some shots, and I'm off to Napa to
shoot for a couple of days on a
friend's film about Gold Rush up there
and the terrible treatment of the
natives around 1850-- a really
interesting guy, a Native American,
who hopes to take it as a short piece
to Sundance. I'll get you shots from
it, and info."

holding up okay, all of his mother's

Perry called. His mother is fading
again, rather quickly this time, and he's
waiting on a phone call telling him it's
time to head out. Bless his
heart. It's SO hard when she doesn't
want to be on earth any more and he wishes
he could do something to help her, but he
can't. Louise is her primary
doctor. He said she has the gift of
being a great doctor, something she got from
her grandfather and how PROUD his father
would be of her. He was
very, very low-key today and I'm very glad
he called to talk.

she's home safe and sound as he was worried
big time about her going, but kept it to
I told him about the overwhelming response
Facebook page had for Flashback Friday
and the 'Riptide' ad I had posted.
He's absolutely amazed 'Riptide' is still as
popular as it is. He's extremely
grateful, but also baffled. He's
always telling me it wasn't this popular
when it originally aired on television.
Please keep his mother in your
thoughts. Pray that her journey is
coming to an end -- that's exactly what she
wants and has wanted for many years. I
asked him to keep me posted and I'll do the
same with you. And thanks again for
the huge response to Flashback Friday on
Facebook -- I really appreciate it.
Told you! Right after I posted the
update yesterday, I received an email from P
saying he was going to call soon. He
did. Tonight. Here's the latest:
2. He's made some major changes to the
cowboy script he sent me a few months
ago. He wouldn't tell me what those
changes were, he'll send it again when he's
finished. He's planning on filming it
next summer on his ranch. "Why
not?" That's his favorite saying
now. He doesn't want to be on his
deathbed with regrets, so "why not?"
-- he's going full steam ahead with
it. After that, he'd like to film
another movie he's writing about
3. On the down side of "why not", he's
decided he's not going to act any more
unless it's something he WANTS to do.
No more getting small roles on popular
shows. He's found out he doesn't have
to act to pay the bills, so he's just going
to do things HE wants to do now. He's
enjoying his life to the fullest and has
decided this how he wants to live it.
4. He approved the idea for the new
look of the site [coming in December] and he
also approved the idea I had for the Photos
page for December. Not gonna say what
it is, only that it'll be pretty
special. I need his help
for it and since we both know how slow he
can be, we're getting started on it
now. I think you'll enjoy it. :)
apologies to you all for being so late in
updating the site. Not much going on
with the Boss -- I actually haven't talked
to him in quite a while. LOTS going on
here at the farm however, and that's why I'm
so late. Did have a great idea for
the Photos page for December and let P know
what it is as I need his help in doing it.
Fingers crossed it works out! One of
these days he'll realize how long it's been
and call to check in -- and I'll let you
know when he does.
HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY, Perry!!! Wishing
you a day and year filled with family, good
friends, good health, happiness, laughter
and lots and lots of love!! 65!!
You can now officially retire! ;) Have
a GREAT day!
an attack occurs in the United States, I

friends for that matter. This was his

And to Jaime Tafoya and Al Cacioppo!!
can't beGIN to tell you how happy I am to
report that as of yesterday morning, APK has
had OVER 400,000 visits! FOUR.
HUNDRED. THOUSAND!!!! THANK you so, SO
much for your support!!!
Talked to P yesterday for over an
hour. Not much coming up
Hollywood-wise, but he told his agents he'd
stay put in LA at least through March --
which is pilot season -- just in case.
He's desperate to attend to his ranch and
visit his mother, who has had a hard time
Back when he and I spent the day together in
Santa Monica in '04, he told me then
he wanted to do a film about redemption
between a father and daughter and film it on
his ranch. Over the years he's
continued to mention it off and on.
Yesterday he sent me the script to review
and all I can say is fans of 'The Cowboy and
The Movie Star' need to cross anything that
can be crossed so this film gets made.
His character is similar to the Cowboy and
it's another sweet, gentle story --
something that is very missing from today's
television and film. I'll keep you
posted as details emerge, but until then,
please keep your fingers crossed!
On March 15th, Perry will be the honored
recipient of the "Cool Cowboy" award from El
Dorado County for his contribution to the
film industry -- congratulations, Perry!!
If you haven't yet, you might want to 'like'

but when P does check in, it's posted to
Crazy time here on the farm so I apologize
for updating the site so late. Nothing
new going on, Perry called me on 2/15 to see
if I was going to Indy so we could
meet up. I wasn't able to make it so I
don't know when the next time we see each
other will be. Depending if his
schedule allows, there might be a little
ditty coming up next month. I'll post
details as soon as I know anything.
These found their way to Facebook but I
don't have any details on when or
where. Thanks, Dominique!!
To all my
friends out there:
This last year
has been a tough one for our country, I
think (I’m talking about the USA, although I
could probably be talking about every
country on this planet). I hope that it has
been a good one for everyone reading this
missive, or at least less difficult than for
the country as a whole. I have so many
friends that are struggling to survive, and
my heart breaks for them. Show Business has
perhaps more than it’s share of people that
live day to day-- all the actors that are
not the stars, and the crew and workers that
are not the headliner producers and
directors, seem to me to be having a harder
time than ever. Then I think of all my
friends up in the Sierras, where the
California economy is barely still
breathing-- well, I’m just praying that this
next year will see things pick up. The
farmers and ranchers, and small store
owners, are right on the edge. My advice to
everyone is to just focus of getting through
the storm. Don’t worry about getting ahead,
or improving things-- just stay alive, to
fight again another day. I believe that day
is close at hand-- my instincts are that
2013 will see things get much better, across
the board. I hope so much that I’m right.
and my family it’s been a bit of a struggle
at times, but mainly terrific. My older
daughter is now teaching and operating at
Harvard Medical School-- to say that I’m
bursting with pride is to wildly understate
the facts. My granddaughter is happily at
school in Boston, and on her way to speaking
three languages already (her mother speaks
five-- and I will tell you as a simple
statement of fact that my daughter gets her
brains from her mother, and my granddaughter
from HER mother). My younger daughter is on
an adventure, for the whole year, in the Far
East-- thriving, happy, and enjoying her
life enormously. I’m scared to death for
her, but try to keep it to myself. My mother
is 97, and I’ve spent more time with her
than ever-- she too is thriving, and we have
some wonderful times talking about her past.
I’ve had a great year taking care of my
family and my ranch, and have been very
busy-- but not much with acting. I miss it,
but find it hard to hang around LA long
enough to land any work worth doing. I’m
busy working on a script of a film that I
could shoot at my ranch-- THAT would excite
my love to all of you, and particularly to
wonderful Deb Gholson, who continues to do a
SUPERB job on APK-- how lucky I am!
lucky I am to continue to receive all of
your interest! Thank you all for caring to
check in with me, and with APK. Have a great

airing: Friday, December 21st
at 2 am. Change/set your timers
The 'Photos' page for January is going to
be completely different -- Perry's
doing it! You'll see things through HIS
eyes and what catches his attention.
ALERT!! 'Home for
the Holidays' -- the seasonal favorite
co-starring Sean Young is only airing ONCE
this year. You read that right -- ONE TIME
ONLY! Lifetime Movie
Network [LMN], Thursday, December 20th at
4:00 pm Eastern. Set your equipment!
Well, dang. Missed the 12th
anniversary mark of APK. It was
December 2nd. TWELVE years -- wow.
Where does the time go. APK
started as a dream for a stay-at-home mom
of two little boys, 6 and 3. Now
they're 18 and 15 and taller than both
their dad and I. It was also a very
far-fetched dream because this mom didn't
know anything about computers or the
internet. Thanks, Jeannie --
you'll ALWAYS have my gratitude.
Always. Also didn't know ANYthing
about stars or Hollywood or websites
or anything like that -- I live out in the
middle of nowhere in Ohio. Boy, did
I get lucky and boy, did I pick the right
guy to help. Those who know the
story, this is a repeat. For those
who don't, I fell for P after I saw he and
Sean in 1998's 'The Cowboy and the Movie
Star'. There was NOTHING about
him on the internet back then and I
decided, in my spare time, I wanted to do
a website for him and help him any way I
could. Now I'm in charge of his fan
mail, his IMDb page and anything else he
asks his other "manager" to do. 12
years. Holy cow.
Next year P and I will celebrate meeting
and actually knowing each other 10
years. That just blows my mind. 10
years. I was scared to death to meet
him. Terrified. He called me
before he came to Ohio to work out how
we'd get together. For those wondering,
yes -- he absolutely sounds like he does
on television. He kept in contact
right up to the morning we were supposed
to meet and gave me instructions to find
him when I got to Pickerington [we met at
the AMA Motorcycle Museum]. I still
remember how my stomach was in
knots. Trembling hands, sweaty
palms, the whole bit. And when I
found him, that's exactly what I said, "I
found you." He came towards me
decked out in motorcycle gear [he had just
finished a ride], I had my hand
extended wanting to shake his.
Nope. He took my hand and pulled me
into a huge hug. THAT is Perry King
-- a warm, considerate, GENUINE
man. I love him dearly.
I think P and I have a great working
relationship. He asks my
opinion, wants my input and values my
answers. I have his complete
trust. He has mine. He's been
invaluable over the years with his advice,
care and concern. He knows when I
contact him it's not on a whim -- I
genuinely need him for whatever reason --
whether the site or personal. He's
always right there. I can't say
anything more or better than that.
I'd like to thank YOU, his fans, for being
so kind, considerate and
understanding. People are always so
appreciative when I respond back to their
questions and try to help them any way I
possibly can. That's my 'job' and
I've loved EVERY minute of it these last
12 years -- I will continue to do so
until my 'boss' tells me it's time
To P, his family and friends I've met and
corresponded with over the years -- thank
you. To you, his fans -- thank
you. I hope every one of you
will have a very blessed Merry Christmas,
and a prosperous and VERY happy New
Year. See you in 2013!

month was the first month in twelve
years I haven't updated the
site, and for that, I
apologize. There were just too
many things going on that demanded
all of my attention. P's fully
aware of the situation and I
appreciated his words of
advice. I also mentioned
I hoped he didn't fire me because of
it. I haven't heard back
yet. I haven't heard much of
anything, actually. When that
happens I assume he's still busy
with life's every day
dealings. I'll let you know
when I hear from him.
*7/12/12* Talked to
P the end of last month. He was in
Ohio for a few days for the Board of
Directors meeting for the AMA. He
was heading back to LA for a couple days,
then up to the ranch to spend time with
Hannah before he and Louise started across
country to get her moved and ready for her
new job at Harvard! Congratulations
*6/5/12* Happy "Bad
Blood is released to DVD" day!
*5/29/12* Heads up
to US residents: The History
Channel's 'Hatfields and McCoys' is NOT
the version Perry is in. The one
he's in is titled "Bad Blood: The

permission to use the photo of Perry as

*5/23/12*Talked an hour on the phone with
P last night. Nothing new coming up, he's
spent the last several days on the ranch and
is waiting for Hannah to show up. He said
he'll try to help me out with the Photos
page ["if that's the only 'problem' we have
after twelve years then we're doing good"];
he thinks the site looks GREAT and thanked
me for keeping it so up-to-date. He also
said he's REALLY looking forward to 'Bad
Blood' coming out. He thinks it's very
good [and for him to say that about
something he's in is unheard of -- he's
his own worst critic] and he's excited to
tell people who ask what they should see
him in [used to be 'A Different Story' but
said "that guy doesn't exist any more"] to
watch it. He's very proud of it and said
the whole time he was in KY filming he
stayed in character. Matter of fact, after
I told him Amazon carries it he's going to
buy several copies and give them out to
friends and family -- he's THAT excited
about it! Remember, it's released June

Haven't talked to P in a while -- one of
these days he'll check in and let me know
what he's been up to. Last
year for his birthday I was hoping to give
him the gift of 300,000 hits to APK.
We made it and this year it was over
358,000! THANK you for your
continued visits and support.
Speaking of visits, if you haven't 'liked'
APK's Facebook page yet, please do
so. More information gets there
faster than I can post it here, although I
try to get it posted in both areas asap.
P sent me this shot with his niece

P called on the 19th to check
in. Nothing going on in the
acting world, but he's going to be
teaching soon at a race track for a
couple of days and is way looking
forward to it.

and Bruce Boxleitner:
"It always amazes me
how fast a new year gets off the ground --
it seems like yesterday morning I was
wondering how I managed to screw up my
Christmas shopping so badly --
again. And now we're almost at the
end of the first month of the next year.
And I haven't even
written to all of you who visit this
website to say "Thank you!" for your
interest, and your loyalty. Even
more important, I haven't yet said
publicly "Thank you, Thank you!" to Deb
for HER loyalty, her friendship, and for
the superb job she always does on her
creation, Absolutely Perry King.
I've told you before, but it's even more
true now, that so many of my actor friends
are extremely jealous of what Deb does for
me. They say they don't know how I
got so lucky -- and I don't either!
Thank you, Deb, from the bottom of my
heart. APK makes me so happy, and so
proud. And thanks to all of you, for
being part of it.
I hope everyone reading
this is off to a great start on their new
year, and that it just keeps getting
better. I just did wardrobe for an
episode of the "The Mentalist" that I'm
about to shoot, and the costume designer
made that fitting the most fun, exciting
fitting I've had in many years. She
completely surprised me with her take on
the character, the way he would dress and
look, and completely sold me on it.
It is always so much fun when you find
yourself working with someone who is very
skillful and passionate. It reminds
you of why you love doing something in the
first place. Before Christmas I
played Randall McCoy in a small film made
in Kentucky about the Hatfields and the
McCoys, titled (for the time being) "Bad
Blood". There I was on the first
day, riding around on a horse,
dressed for 1866, brandishing an old
percussion rifle, and yelling at everyone
in a Southern accent, and I though, "Oh,
right, NOW I remember why I wanted to be
an actor when I was twelve.
This is exactly what I had in mind."
Those moments of pure pleasure in what you
do get you through all the other
stuff. I hope you all have some of
that in your own lives, hopefully a lot of
it. When you do, spread those
moments out over all the rest, kind of
like oil on troubled waters. It
works wonders for me.
Well, here's wishing
you all Love and Luck in 2012! Thank
you for visiting APK."
P called last night. After

He'll be filming a guest role on 'The

THAT HAPPENS IS YOUR FAULT
By Perry King
AMA National Board Member
lots of you out there read about
the terrible accident down toward
San Diego that happened about two
weeks before Thanksgiving. I
don't know any of the people
involved, but like everyone I was
horrified to hear about it, and my
heart goes out to all the injured
survivors and the families
involved. It was a terrible
thing, and I would give just about
anything to know a way to soften
the pain for everyone involved --
but of course, there is no such
way. We all know well that
this sport that we all love so
much can bite viciously, and it
can happen to anyone at any time.
I hope you'll all forgive me for
using this example to talk about
something I feel so strongly
about. It's a harsh example
to use, because it's so raw -- but
that's exactly why we can all
learn from it. I've been
riding now for 45 years, and I had
my terrible accident back in 1970
-- I nearly lost my right
leg. The only reason I
didn't was because I was on an old
BMW (a '53 R51/2, a junk I dug out
of a field, bought for 150 bucks,
and loved maybe more than any
other bike I've ever had).
The right-hand cylinder was torn
off the bike by the car that
pulled right across in front of
me. That cylinder saved my
leg -- even though it took me
months to walk again. The
old farmer driving the car said "I
never even saw you." Then he said:
"You son-of-a-bitch, look what you
did to my car!" If I could
have gotten up, I would have
killed him. But I've loved
Beemers ever since, because of
People always say:
"Motorcycles are so dangerous", to
which I counter: "No, motorcycle
ACCIDENTS are dangerous. The
idea is, don't have one."
So, how do you do that?
Well, to the degree that that's
possible, I think I know the
way. You have to ride as if
anything that happens, whatever it
is, is YOUR fault.
With that attitude, you can stay
out of a lot of trouble. If
you go through a green light, and
someone runs the red light coming
the other way and hits you --
that's YOUR FAULT! You get
it? -- it makes you forget about
who's right and who's wrong, and
take full responsibility for
getting home in one piece.
That lousy old farmer taught me
that. He was completely
wrong -- but I was the one with
the smashed up leg, the leg that
still hurts on rainy days 40 years
later. Who cares if he was
in the wrong? Not hitting
him would have been much
better. Since then I've had
at least two dozen idiots do the
same thing to me, and I've always
missed them, because I knew when
they did it that: ANYTHING
THAT HAPPENS IS MY FAULT.
Try thinking that way -- it can
save you a lot of grief.

The 2011 Version of Six Reasons Why
I Like Perry King More Than Ever
Years ago --
1985 as a matter of fact -- Carolyn See wrote
an article for TV Guide titled ‘Six Reasons
Why I Like Perry King More Than Ever‘. I don’t
know if Carolyn had the personal relationship
like I do with Perry, but after visiting with
him recently, I decided that article needed to
be updated. Here’s Carolyn’s six reasons:
1. I like Perry
King because he didn’t take his shirt off in
front of me. 2. I like Perry
King because he loves his daughter. 3. I like Perry
King because he loves his family. 4. I like Perry
King because he’s smart. 5. I like Perry
King because he has good manners. 6. I like Perry
King because he looks “out” instead of “in”.
You can pretty much guess the content
and explanations behind Carolyn’s list. And,
after reading the article again [you can usually
find copies for sale on eBay], I learned this
story was indeed an assignment and not based on
long-term experience. Therefore, after seven
years of friendship, here’s my list:
1. I like Perry King because he’s real.
From his adamant refusal to any kind of plastic
surgery [“I want to look like me”], to his
ability to laugh at himself. He’s been in the
business for almost 40 years so he knows a lot
ABOUT the business, yet it hasn‘t gone to his
head. What you see is what you get -- there‘s
nothing fake about him.
2. I like Perry King because he’s practical.
He hasn’t been invited back to several
motorcycle events because he has the audacity to
show up and park his well-used [read muddy, beat
up] whatever-strikes-him-to-drive-that-day bike
next to a showroom-ready Harley [which he
doesn‘t own nor wants to] that‘s never seen
rain. His car of choice is a Jeep. He’s had his
share of fancy vehicles over the years yet his
favorites are the ones he’s either ran ’til they
dropped [he has several motorcycles right now in
need of complete rebuilds], or can take him
where he wants to go. Sometimes that calls for
driving up cliffs. Nope, no fancy for him.
3. I like Perry King because of his
standards. And some of them are tough.
Really tough. Jaw-dropping tough if you want the
truth. The past year we’ve talked a lot about
his personal life and what he’s done with it.
Regardless of events, he remains fiercely
steadfast to his standards and he’ll never back
off from them because it‘s the way, he feels, it
4. I like Perry King because he’s loyal.
Some say you should keep the friends who pick
you up or make you happy and lose the ones who
bring you down. Not Perry. If he’s your friend,
he’s right beside you through all the lows and
highs. Sometimes at personal cost, but it, he
states, is his duty as a friend.
5. I like Perry King because he’s wicked.
Once he discovers something that ticks you off,
he’ll do it just because he knows it will, and
relishes the reaction he knows it‘ll bring.
6. I like Perry King because he’s Perry King.
Warm. Genuine. Caring. Loving. Faithful.
Considerate. Generous. Polite. Respectful. Kind.
Passionate. Appreciative. Wise. Grateful. Open.
Funny. Honest. Gentle. Those and more are what
makes him who he is. Carolyn’s six are still
accurate 26 years later: He loves his family,
loves his daughters, still looks “out” instead
of “in”, has wonderful manners and he’s
extremely smart. But with time comes more wise
experience and knowledge which he's more than
willing to share.
I had a three and a half hour drive to get back
home after our weekend visit. He called twice to
check on my safety and location. To me, that
says a LOT about who Perry King is -- it's very
hard to keep it limited to only six reasons why
I like him...
*2/9/11*Yup. He told
me he was going to be there. Now
he'll visit his mother soon then we'll

Okay, here's the deal about IMDb -- In
the trivia section, there's a sentence
that reads: "In the past, has blamed his
then brave decision to play a gay
character in 'A Different Story' (1978)
for having stunted his career."
Here's what Perry has to say about that:
"That's not true -- this was fabricated
by a TV Guide writer about 20 years ago,
and has surfaced again. What I
really said to her, and have said many,
many times over the years, is that I'm
prouder of A Different Story than any
other piece of film I've ever done, and
would do it again in a heartbeat, even
if you guaranteed me that it would hurt
my career. In other words, I don't
think it did hurt me at all, but I love
the film, so I don't care one way or the
other. The TV Guide writer needed
some actor in Hollywood to say that
playing gay hurt his or her career, and
she dishonestly stuck the words in my
mouth. When that happens, there's
nothing you can do about it. I
protested and demanded a retraction, and
they ignored me. Now THAT probably
did hurt my career -- but that's show
He also says, "My mother is getting
better and better -- and I can't wait to
hug my kid in a few hours." [Today

Spent an hour and a half on the phone
last night with Perry getting his work
list in order. The correct version
is now on the 'Filmography' page.
Please send good thoughts and prayers to
his mother who fell last week and
cracked her pelvis in two

resting comfortably, but still -- not
good for someone her age.
There's a new video on the 'Video'

Ruth King Porter, Perry's sister.
Filmed by William Mims [thank you again,

continuing the project -- a fascinating
look at Max Perkins. Other than that,
he's STILL in L.A. and doing well.

family emergency this week, haven't had
time to put it in order.
Hope to get started on it sometime next

Entertainment. THANKS, Bill!
There will also be a statement from Perry coming
soon regarding a supposed trivia 'fact' that is
listed on IMDb. And, due to the inaccurate
information on IMDb [and Wikipedia while we're
at it], Perry is currently putting together a
correct credit list. There's work
listed on IMDb he's supposedly done that
he's never even heard of. Anyone can
put information on both of those sites, but just
because it's on there doesn't necessarily mean
it's accurate. Stay tuned.

King, whose career spans more than 40 years, is
perhaps best known for his portrayal as Cody Allen
in the popular 1980s television series "Riptide."
King rose to prominence alongside up-and-comers
Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler with the 1974
release of "The Lords of Flatbush," in which he
played the character Chico Tyrell. Today, his list
of roles numbers in the hundreds and, most
recently, he has appeared in the HBO hit "Big
King hosted last year's Hall of Fame induction
ceremony, and is a natural fit for the role of
emcee. Not only is he a seasoned professional
actor, he is also an avid motorcyclist and a
member of the AMA Board of Directors.
"Perry lends the perfect blend of consummate
professionalism with down-to-earth approachability
to our ceremony," said AMA President and CEO Rob
Dingman. "We are really thrilled to have someone
as talented and as passionate about motorcycling
as Perry for our emcee, and we're very fortunate
that his schedule allowed him to return this
"I'm really honored to demonstrate my support for
the Hall of Fame in this way," King said. "Last
year, there were several moments when everyone in
the room was choking back the tears during the
inductee speeches. I was one of them. Their words
were genuine and heartfelt, and they touched all
of us deeply. That's what I love about
motorcyclists. We're like a huge family, and if
you love to ride you're welcomed with open arms,
no questions asked."
The Hall of Fame Class of 2010 includes legendary
two-stroke engine tuner Eyvind Boyesen, dirt-track
racer Don Castro, sidecar roadrace champion Larry
Coleman, off-road rights activist Clark Collins,
AMA 250cc Roadrace Champion David Emde, off-road
gear pioneers John and Rita Gregory, desert racing
champion and team manager Bruce Ogilvie, and
championship team owner Mitch Payton. Also honored
will be legendary motocross hero and Hall of Famer
Bob Hannah. Hundreds will attend, including
inductees' families, friends and fans, dozens of
Hall of Fame members, industry leaders, and AMA
and AMHF (American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation)
In addition to the induction ceremony, the
three-day AMA Legends and Champions Weekend
features a full slate of activities. On Saturday,
Nov. 20, the 2010 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Concours
d'Elegance will showcase some of the country's
most impressive original and restored classic
motorcycles. Then at noon, the AMA honors the best
of the amateur racing community at the 2010 AMA
Racing Championship Banquet. Saturday evening
marks the Las Vegas début of the movie "Carlsbad
USGP: 1980," a look at an iconic motocross race
that some have dubbed "the Woodstock of
motorcycling." Sunday caps off the weekend
with self-guided rides in the surrounding area.

he'll be emceeing the AMA Motorcycle Hall of

when it becomes available. Two, he'll be

Fence Us Out
I'm just a biker like you. I make
my living as an actor (a series in the 80s
called "Riptide", the President in the movie
"The Day After Tomorrow", and about 50 other
shows) but believe me, what I really care
about, after my kids, is riding my
bikes. I joined the Board of the
American Motorcyclist Association about a year
ago to help out with what I think is a really
big problem headed our way: the powers
that be, whoever they are, are taking away our
right to ride on our public lands as fast as
they can. I live in the north of
California, and that's the area I represent on
the AMA Board. Up here, just this year,
we've lost about 15 district events because we
weren't given the permission to run them --
off-road events that have been held for years
without problems. Each time it's
something different, and each time it seems to
be a different group or faction or cause that
is blocking us, but each time the result is
the same: we don't get to ride off-road,
in the lands that Teddy Roosevelt and John
Muir set aside for the public to use.
More and more and more, all over the country,
our lands aren't being protected for the
public, they're being protected FROM the
public. They tell us it's because we
damage the land, abuse it in some fashion,
ruin it for others -- well it's not true, and
up here we can prove it over and over, but it
doesn't matter, because no one wants to
listen. They just want to run those of
us who love off-roading out, any way they can.
So what I want to say to
all of you out there that feel the way I do,
about bikes and about loving to ride them
off-road, is this: join the AMA and
start fighting. The only way we can
fight back -- the ONLY way -- is to band
together, so that we have some power.
The only forum for doing that, in my opinion,
is the AMA. Rob Dingman, Ed Moreland,
and the AMA Government Relations Department
are fighting for us tooth and nail -- but
their strength comes from our numbers, and our
numbers are dwindling. The lousy economy
and hard times are making everyone pull back,
to save money and because we're all exhausted
by it all, but when things get better again
we're all going to look around and find out
that in the meantime, while we were busy just
surviving, the anti-access groups locked the
gates on the whole country -- and there's no
where left to ride.
You think I'm probably
paranoid, but have you noticed what's happened
in the Rockies? Access to MILLIONS of
acres has been lost, just this year --and much
more "so called" Wilderness is proposed.
Wilderness means you can't go near it, no
matter how careful you are not to hurt
anything. Closed, finito -- end of
When I first started riding
off-road, about 30 years ago, it seemed like
the whole world was open to me -- now it seems
like you've got to hunt forever just to find
somewhere to go, and right after you explore
it, the uniforms come and close it down.
There's only one thing we can all do to change
this -- join the AMA and get active.
Please, so that we can all keep riding -- DO

helping Hannah finish up her school work for
the year so it's a busy time. He had a

Ducati sold on eBay with a portion of the

in Lexington, Ohio. As stated in the
Photos page, photos next month will be delayed
until around the 12th as I hope to get some
new shots during his visit.
On a personal note: When I started apk 10
years ago, I picked a time when Perry decided
to go into a self-imposed hiatus to be dad for
his youngest daughter. It's a little
difficult doing a website for an actor who
wasn't acting any longer. Regardless,
today saw another first for the site -- it
passed the quarter of a million visits mark. A
quarter of a million! I can't tell you
how proud and happy that makes me and I want
to thank each and every one of you for your
continued visits and support! I also want to
thank Perry for making apk "our"
website. It wouldn't be what it is
without him and all of you -- thank you from
the bottom of my heart!

*5/03/10*Own one of
Perry's favorite motorcycles! The
AMA's Motorcycle Hall of Fame is placing Perry's
1981 Ducati 900 Supersport motorcycle on eBay
today. As soon as the link is active, it
will be posted. Until then, here are the
1981 Ducati 900 Supersport -
owned by motorcycling enthusiast, and actor of
stage, screen, and TV, Perry King.
Perry took third place with this bike in the La
Carrera-Classic in Mexico in 1987; and he is only
the second owner.
This exclusive motorcycle is currently housed at
Motorcycle Hall of Fame outside of Columbus, OH and may be
viewed upon appointment.
It is being sold as part of the AMA Motorcycle
Hall of Fame’s CycleDonor program. A portion of
the proceeds from the sale of this motorcycle will
support the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. (The
CycleDonor program allows individuals to dispose
of unwanted used motorcycles and at the same time
support the Museum with a charitable donation. )
The winning bidder will receive the informational
plague from the MotoStars exhibit giving details
on the bike, autographed by Perry King.
LOOK AT THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY. This item is
honestly represented and is being sold AS IS. If
you have questions on this item contact me BEFORE
the end of the auction. We can send you more
photos (electronic images) of the motorcycle if
you request them within a reasonable amount of
time . . . before the end of the auction. In the
event of any bid cancellations in the last
twenty-four hours of the auction, we reserve the
right to cancel this auction.
High bidder will pick the bike up, or make ALL
shipping and crating arrangements. There will be
no delivery. Local pick‑up is available Monday
through Friday, between 9AM 4:30PM. Payment and
delivery arrangements are expected within 10 days
of end of auction. The only forms of payment
accepted are money orders or cashier's
checks. Cash and credit card are
available with local pick-up. Thanks for looking
and good luck.
The original tool kit, battery hold-down strap,
air filters and associated plumbing, exhaust
end-caps, keys, and paperwork are in Perry’s
possession and will be provided to the winner at
the end of the auction. There are no
photographs available of these items.
It should be noted that when last run (about 5
years ago) the bike ran perfectly, but when the
bike was shipped to the AMA Hall of Fame for the
MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles exhibition
the clutch was frozen and remains so today.
Realistically, it should free itself when pushed
hard with the lever pulled in.

Filmed 'Big Love' all day on Tuesday and has to

he had a great time. Said the hours he worked

*3/09/09*A few years ago I asked Perry's fans to keep
his mother in their thoughts and prayers as she was
very ill. Perry's mother is a healthy 93 years
old now thanks in part to that request. Today
I'm asking for more good thoughts and prayers --
Perry's oldest daughter, Louise, had a very
dangerous situation happen a few weeks ago.
Louise is a third year resident in medical school,
which means she has 120 hour work weeks on top of
raising a three year old daughter -- her life is
very full and incredibly busy. Again, I don't
ask this to violate personal lives and privacy -- I
ask this as a fan and friend of Perry's.
Please keep Louise in your positive thoughts and
prayers -- hopefully it will comfort and surround
the family with love and support during this
difficult time. Thank you so much.
*2/3/09*The html problem has
been fixed. If you have bookmarked any pages,
make sure they read html or else you might want to
refresh then bookmark them.
*2/2/09*I just realized that
the editor program I have has been automatically
saving things in the wrong format. So it looks
like APK hasn't been updated in over a month, but
it actually has. I'm so sorry!
Unfortunately I don't have the time right now to
change everything over and it's going to have to
wait until the end of this week until I do.
The photos page should have an html in the address
bar. If it doesn't, add it, and you'll see
the updates. As far as I know, this only affects
the main page and the Photos page -- everything
else is correct and I haven't updated any
others. I will get this changed as soon as I
can and again, I'm so sorry if it looks like I've
been slacking. I haven't -- honest!
Fan Fiction' page has moved to it's own
location! The new address is : http://www.riptidefans.com Congratulations

-- Happy New Year! Thanks to all of
you who have written to me with your
feelings about various things you've seen me
in, and many other subjects. I enjoy
reading everything you send, and wish I
could respond to each message. Please
know that your interest in my career and
life mean a great deal to me. I feel
grateful and blessed that so many people
care. Thank you again.
that this new year is better for ALL of
us than the media would lead us to
believe it's going to be. It's
pretty scary listening to all the
doom and gloom -- but I want to believe
it's going to get better very soon -- so
I'm going to believe it, and that's
that! Certainly if one of the
things we all wish for in life is to
live in interesting times, we got our
wish -- in my whole lifetime the only
era I remember being so fascinating and
filled with unexpected twists and turns
is the second half of the sixties.
And even though we're starting out this
year with lots of problems, we're also
starting with tremendous hope and
promise for the future -- more than I
remember from almost any year of my
life. So all in all I think it's
going to be an exciting and wonderful
year for all of us.
I'm continuing to work on the job I gave
myself several years ago, which is to
jettison anything (ie, acting work) that
gets in the way of me providing my
younger daughter Hannah with the peace
and routine she needs to reach her
goals. Hannah is working extremely
hard toward becoming a doctor (like her
older sister Louise, of whom I am also
fiercely proud). She's a
junior in a very tough high school, and
at the moment has straight As and will
be attending a summer session at a
medical school, an honor that was
extended to her because of all her hard
work. Hannah never asks me not to
work, and in fact often tells me to go
back to acting, and that she'll cope
fine with the dislocations and lack of
routine -- but I know this is the right
thing to do and what she needs, and I
have no regrets or doubts. Once
she goes to college, if acting will have
me, I'll get back to it, with pleasure.
So here's to a great year for all of us, and a huge,
HUGE thank-you to Deb Gholson for her hard, incredibly
generous, totally selfless, and brilliantly achieved
work on this website. I don't know how I ever got
so lucky to become a focus of her interest, but I'll be
eternally grateful for it -- and even better, for the
joy of being able to count Deb among my friends.
Thank you, Deb, with all my heart.
Happy New Year! Love and Luck to
all of you, Perry"

American Motorcyclist Association welcomes
Perry King to Board of Directors
The AMA is pleased to announce that 45-year
motorcyclist and actor Perry King has been appointed to
the Association's Board of Directors, and begins serving
his official duties at the Board meeting convening
today. King, who will serve the North West region on the
AMA Board, makes his home in Northern California on a
ranch in Cool. He maintains a second residence in
"Perry King is more than a Hollywood
personality, he is a lifelong motorcyclist and one of
the most poised and dedicated representatives of the
motorcycling community," said AMA President and CEO Rob
Dingman. "Perry is not only passionate about
motorcycling but is passionate about the AMA, as well.
He recognizes the importance of the AMA in protecting
the future of motorcycling."
King will fill the vacancy resulting from the
departure of former AMA Board Chairman Dal Smilie.
Smilie resigned after an AMA internal investigation
uncovered evidence of unsubstantiated expense
reimbursements to Smilie. King will serve out the
remainder of the original term, which extends through
"My deep love of all things related to
motorcycling, particularly the people, attracted me
greatly to the prospect of serving on the AMA Board of
Directors," King said. "Also, my appreciation for hard,
productive work made me feel I must not pass up this
opportunity -- so much of the time, all I really want to
do is ride my motorcycle, but that's no excuse to avoid
an important calling."
King says that the major motorcycling issues
facing the North West region include land-use, noise,
drinking and riding, public image, and, "the apparent
inability of the American public to see motorcycles as
smart, fuel-efficient and practical vehicles for the
Motorcycles have played a major role in King's
life for more than four decades. He owns bikes of all
types, including vintage, dual-sport and sport
motorcycles. He constantly rides both off- and on-road
and occasionally races. King's 500-acre cattle ranch in
Northern California -- where his ranch hands have opted
for motorcycles instead of horses to work the property
-- provides him with considerable opportunity to ride
off-road close to home.
King is an accomplished actor and has appeared
in more than 50 films and made-for-television movies,
television series and on stage. Some of his better-known
roles include Cody Allen in the NBC series "Riptide,"
Hayley Armstrong in the Fox series "Melrose Place,"
Richard Williams in the NBC series "Titans" and
President Blake in the 2004 movie "The Day After
Tomorrow." Perhaps one of King's most enduring roles is
Chico in the 1974 movie "The Lords of Flatbush." King
made his film debut in the 1972 film
King has a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama
from Yale University. He subsequently studied under John

smidge sparse. It's a busy time of the year
here on the farm and quite frankly I'm working on a
totally different look for APK which will appear for '08 that I'm VERY
excited about. I've also received many new
screen caps that I've never had before so I'm just
going to wing the Photos page until the new year and
start everything off fresh. Thank you so much
for your understanding and your continued visits and
support! The Photos page will be changed
within the next day or so.

Stephen J. Cannell's website, season two of
'Riptide' will be released on October 30 and will
only be available from VEI in Canada. Below is
the cover art. Will post more information as
it becomes available.
And the answer to
the 'what are you up to?' question is 'everything
but acting'. There's nothing new coming up any
time soon. Perry's having fun running around
doing life things.
Haven't heard another thing regarding a
September release for the second season of 'Riptide', so
I hope it's still on the menu for this month and will
post information on if and when when it's received.
Perry's reviewing the interview we did
together on August 8th, so as soon as he's done with
that, I'll be sending it on to the entertainment
site. I'll post a link to it here, so keep
checking back. Happy fall!
Nothing new to
report as far as I know. I'll be interviewing
Perry this week so I'll get a 'what are you up to?'
I've been contacted
by an entertainment website who asked if I would do
an interview with Perry for their site. Perry
has graciously agreed to the interview so while I'm
planning the outline, I thought I'd ask his fans
what they would like to read about. Send your
thoughts and ideas and we'll all see what I come up with.
I added a permanent
link above to TVNow.com for Perry's schedule so
it'll be more convenient to find out when
he'll be appearing on television. Hope it

let's hope Sony follows suit with their second season as

last time I talked to Perry which was the middle of
May, there was nothing new coming out at that
time. He's having too much fun playing family
man right now. His mother's doing very well
and so is everyone else in his family.
Thunder 11 -- Perry's scheduled to be the special guest at Desert Thunder's 11th Annual
Children's Charity Motorcycle Ralley and Classic Car
Show held October 12-14th, 2007 in Primm, NV.
Details coming soon!

For years the link
to Gerri's Perry
King Now site
could be found on APK's
'Links' page and vice versa. The beginning of
2007 Gerri decided to shut down her site, a
wonderful "thank you" to Perry for starring in 'The
Discontents' -- a film her son created and also
starred in -- and she was looking forward to
what the future held in store. It's with great
sadness to report Gerri passed away unexpectedly
last week. APK mourns the loss of
this amazing woman and sends it's

Perry just filmed a
guest appearance in ABC's 'Brothers and Sisters'!
television film "Framed For Murder" will air Sunday

Different Story' was now available on DVD. There's a special
feature section that has a wonderful interview with
Perry, Paul Aaron [director], Alan Belkin [producer]
and Henry Olek [writer] about this charming love
story. Perry talks of his love for the film
and Paul's direction during filming.
Perry's back from
his trip and checked in last night:
"I'm finally back from Tibet and Burma-- it
was a great trip, full of adventures, with just enough
hardship to make it exciting without making it
miserable. I'm planning to spend a fair amount of
time in the next few months in LA and see if I can get
things moving again."
Let's get those positive thoughts going so we
can see much more of Perry on the screen soon!
Perry checked in
last night and here's what he had to say:
"On the 14th of Jan is that "Cold Case" I did
(no idea if it, or I, are good or bad)-- and this Sunday
I leave for Burma (Myanmar), Tibet, and China to help a
friend in his quest to open the old Burma Road (of WW2
fame) to jeep expeditions--should be one hell of an
adventure. When I return by the end of Jan I plan to
really try hard to get back to work-- ideal would be a
recurring role in a series, where I could plan my life a
little bit (please keep your fingers crossed for me). "
So, as the man asks, let's all keep our
fingers crossed that we'll be seeing LOTS more of him on
the screen in 2007 and beyond!
Year! May 2007 be a happy, safe and prosperous
year for us all!
'The Cowboy and the
Movie Star' fans will appreciate Lifetime's repeat of 'Home For
The Holidays' this coming Saturday [Dec. 9th] and
Tuesday [Dec. 12th]. Perry and Sean Young are paired
once again in a touching holiday film. Check
local listings for time.
Hard to believe
another year's wrapping up, isn't it? Thank you for
your continued visits, your questions and for your
kind compliments about the site. I pass them
onto Perry and we appreciate them very, very
much. There's going to be a couple changes in
'07 -- APK will have a slight
overhaul; there's going to be some GREAT personal
pictures coming up on the 'Photos' page and
best of all, a LOT more appearances to report
as Perry's jumping back into the 'actor' mode again!
From myself and Perry,
we wish you a very safe and joyous holiday
season. Thanks so much for your continued
support -- see you in 2007!

Perry checked in

Donna Germaine (Barbara Niven, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) has
just moved to a new neighborhood and is optimistic
about her new life. Donna's troubled past is not so
easy to leave behind, however, peppered as it is with
adultery, betrayal, and violence, which has left her
with some unpleasant tendencies. Once ensconced in her
new home, Donna meets the man of her dreams: her next
door neighbor, William (Perry King, THE DAY AFTER
TOMORROW). William is unfortunately married to Jeannie
(Susan Blakely, HATE CRIME), but the two are
experiencing some difficulties. As Donna's fixation on
William becomes ever stronger, the couple struggle to
hold their marriage together, but ultimately their
neighbor's obsessive unrequited love becomes a vicious
impetus to murder.

having an article in the magazine is neat, it would be
even neater to be interviewed by the magazine [Deb

I've been on a self-imposed hiatus from
